*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I think AMD needs to delay its card again to see the performance of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070.

I can't see it being true, but if it was, it's literally just Nvidia playing them at a poor game of chicken

To what end though, if the 9070XT is as fast as the 5070ti, we and amd already know the price of the 5070. So it's not like they can whip it out last minute and go aha!

why release such a card? does the card have the power to even utilise that much VRAM, it could be maybe aimed at AI people who don't buy instinct cards. What AMD really needed to do was to release a 9080xt with performance somewhere between 5080 and 4090, I wonder if AMD are having regret about not developing such a card because Nvidia really flopped this generations.

Yes for ai and cheaper than professional cards which can also used for gaming?

It's the year 2034, this thread is on page 14,532 as we debate whether the 9070XT and RTX 5070 will be released this decade.

Think Nvidia 5070 is really poor , as is 5070ti , if talking performance, ideally AMD would probably want to do presentation showing against them but don't think they have enough time with AMD releasing early march

Wasn't expecting it but AMD actually look like they have the better cards up against 5070 / ti just depends on pricing

I would just let the reviewers do that job for them

AMD should have just got these out last month. Then when the RTX5070 released in March, release FSR4 and maybe even bundle a game to sweeten the deal.

They always delay their launches though, last few years I can't recall a time they actually released ahead of the Green team. Always give the impression they're on the back foot.

Don't tempt me to wait even more... depends on how good the 16GB 9070/XT's are.
DOA?

From those who want to save a click to the link, a Canadian retailer supposedly prematurely listed the Powercolour and XFX models of the 9070XT and 9070 cards at $999CAD and $839CAD. So roughly $700USD and $600USD.

That would literally be $50 cheaper than a 5070ti... and the other $50 more than 5070. RIP if it's true, but these pricing leaks have been all over the place so no clue how real this is.
Keep in mind for the 5000 series, some retailers like OCUK here were listing fake prices at £25k and such. That said, this could just be retailers pre-scalping the AMD cards same as the Nvidia cards too. If Nvidia GPUs can be listed for 20-70% over RRP, surely there's the possibility for retailers to try similarly for AMD GPUs?

Canadian prices are always insane, an xbox series x in canada is $649.96, in the UK £449.99$

$697 Canadian dollar at current exchange rates is £392.39, given it won't be like that and more like SX comparison, I can see the 9070 being £499, and the 9070xt at £599-£649

Given the present Nvidia stock situation, is it necessarily "RIP if its true"?

if 9070XT is $1000CAD, that's £562 in today's exchange rate, add VAT and it's £675.

Now, use the 5080 prices to give a possible idea of how the 5070(ti) might go - nothing is near the official Nvidia MSRP...

5080 MSRP is £979 but the present cheapest card on OC is £1200 - that's a 22% uplift.
Use that same uplift on MSRP for 5070(ti):
5070ti MSRP is £729 - a 22% uplift is £890
5070 MSRP is £539 - a 22% uplift is £658

sooo - it all depends on the 9070xt performance - if it's really between 4070ti and 4080 (approx the expectation of the 5070ti) then we're looking at potentially £675 vs £890...

but, yes, without that uplift/scalping, it's only £675 vs £729 (and likely worse gaming RT and apps like Blender).

We'll all find out in a couple weeks.

Do you consider the 4070Ti to be one too?
The 4070ti at least released a few years ago but yea I still consider it poor, I wouldn't of touched one especially owning a 6800xt. But buying that tier card now with 12gb makes no sense its an 8gb 3070 situation in the making all over again.
