COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

Careful folks, you’ll get policed if you laugh and take the **** out of his posts too much.

I haven't been impressed with the mods in this thread at all, even in the past. We've had a couple of people who come to troll bait every so often (including one regular) and when they put a little bit of effort into their trolling the mods completely ignore it every time. But they'll jump down on your neck for laugh reacts.

Apparently they can't be arsed with anything that requires a bit of thought and going back through some posts.

This thread has been a shower of excrement ever since it got moved to GD.

My parents have never had cold sores prior to getting covid in May ‘22. In the three colds they had since, they have developed cold sores, which get increased in size each time
There are studies done that as shown covid weakens the immune system and latent viruses become reactivated.

HSV1 and 2, which I think are cold sores. Also EBV is appearing in people.

This is a preprint report from last year. But lots of anecdotal evidence in the post covid groups;

And another one;

I've had cold sores all my life and since having COVID twice and all the available vaccinations... I've noticed no difference in incidence or severity of them

A little off topic, and a little bit gross, but I used to suffer from cold sores, and then followed an old wives remedy, and haven't had one for decades. Ear wax.

There's seemingly a little science behind it too, though not everyone's ear wax is apparently suitable.. and plenty also seem to disagree with it having anti viral properties.

Do not put on open wounds since ear wax can contain bacteria and dirt. But when you feel the start of one put some on. I produce a lot of waxy ear wax, my wife produces very dry wax, so that may make a difference too, not everyone is the same.

Maybe it's luck, maybe it's something completely unrelated etc, maybe it was correlation and not causation etc.

I'm mentioning this because it's connected to covid, and health on general.

This post. This wins the "What the flipping heck am I even reading?" internet award for today.

Also, congratulations on finding something that works for you.

It's incredibly important where it originated so that we can close any gap and prevent it happening again.

Ideally yes. But we don't live in an ideal world, so that would depend heavily on where it originated. And how robust and co-operative the investigation was. If it turns out it originated in a Chinese laboratory or that becomes the de facto origination due to politicking and post-fact BS can you imagine the fall out? Especially with Trump in charge. He'd absolutely love that, in fact he'd probably set it up given any encouragement.

And doing that wouldn't make a repeat any less likely. It would just make the world a much more dangerous place.

This is a disaster for American medical research. I know a lot of post covid research is nearly wholly funded by the NIH. Their research as come to a near complete stop. Trials have stopped too.

This is the first time I have posted in this thread.

In spring 2021 I downloaded publicly available US VARS data that covered early COVID vaccination. The data is formatted in CVS format and was viewable in Excel.

I want to talk about what was in this data, but still feel I can't, lets just say the blood clots and myocarditis, and the UK governments 120k compensation for the very worse side effects are no surprise for me.

And please don't think I'm trolling or stirring up trouble or anything, I still have the VARS data on a HDD drive from almost 4 years ago. RFK in USA looks like he's going to investigate exactly what happened with everything and hopefully make the findings public.

What is VARS? Can you post it so it's shared in a google drive doc?

Sorry I mean VAERS, it's this

Yes I might upload the document to a google drive.

EDIT 2021 data is still on VAERS.

The CSV file contains a 'DIED' field, sort the data on this, then read the comments that are written. I would like to copy out some of the things written in there but worried I get in trouble for re-posting them so won't.

The biggest threat to people's health isn't the antivaxxers. It's the covid deniers in the NHS blaming it all on anxiety.

An opinion article from one of the most prominent leading researchers into Long Covid, Amy D Proal, on the state of research and what needs to be done.
