They contact you when they have the card and about to ship.
You either pay up or they cancel and offer to next person - It is in their terms and conditions they posted after taking pre-orders (which could be illegal, as thought they had to be completely transparent during the purchase process.)

I paid £2099 for the Zotac Solid - I fear they are going to ask for another £400+

Wow that's bad service; the store I use never asks me to pay more when price goes up while waiting in the pre order queue

What ar*ewipe tactics. I am in one of their queues but still looking elsewhere at the same time. I won't pay any extra than advertised and as I still have my 3090 to game on I am not feeling pressured to upgrade thankfully.

Im sure the price increse is only related to if the doller goes down hence why it updates the rate daily on the site. Maybe they mean it costs more to join the queue. Still scammy but shouldnt affect currenty queue prices

Is the bracketed section (Most likely will happen...) your addition or copied from the site because that wasn't there before.

EDIT it's your addition. They have revised the whole pre order page again with further info indicating they intend to charge more when the items arrive. None of this 'Transparent Cost Confirmation' was transparent before and is now retroactive after everybodys preorder.

I stupidly prematurely sold my 4090 coz I thought I would have been able to buy a 5090 on day one release.

it just seems like a ******* downgrade to me, actually its been a horrible experience trying to buy a GPU when u have the money, its like your money has no value, have cash but cant buy what u want

I did the same, I sold my 4090 in early Jan. I couldn’t get a 5090 on 30th so bought a 5080 instead. I’ve now got a 5090 FE so have sold the 5080! 3 different GPUs in less than 4 weeks lol

Couldn’t wait to get rid of that ugly Zotac 4090 I’ve been staring at since October 2022 :cry:

It seems they completely messed up on pre-order pricing and charged people a correct amount - They now realise that in the current market they can scalp.
So they will most likely increase prices and make sure everyone who has pre-ordered is charge an extra few hundred to receive their card.

TBH I am not a solicitor but pretty sure what they are doing is not legal - As thought that any things like this should have it clearly marked when purchasing the price and money taken isn't the final amount and just a pre-order holding.
I didn't see any mention of this when pre-ordering and it was a policy brought in a couple of days later when the pre-order page landed.

This is their new policy:

Your final pre-order price is influenced by several key factors:
1 We maintain normal margins without inflating prices during shortages. You can compare our prices with the market to assess the fair value. (When companies are charging £3000 for a standard Palit - Is that considered fair value?)
2 As mentioned, our final buy price is confirmed only after dispatch, based on the prevailing exchange rate. Your pre-order price is therefore an estimate until then as exchange rates are volatile.
3 Our long-standing relationships with board partners and NVIDIA ensure fair allocations and support our “Order with Confidence” pledge to our customers.
4 Your pre-order secures your place in line, and we stand by it as a firm commitment to delivering genuine value.

Overclockers might be charging more per card, but least they aren't going to send you an email asking to pull your pants down and bend over whilst they charge an extra few hundred quid on your pre-order.

it is completely, unambiguously illegal and goes against foundational contract law and precedent. There was nothing about price changes at the point of ordering which means they are contracted to provide the item for the agreed price they processed. The disclaimer about potential prices changes only appeared 4 days after launch. There is no grey area here, it's extremely clear.

Maybe they realised they messed up on launch day and added it on from new orders from then. Because if what you say is true then release day orders MUST be what they showed. Its all horrid made even WORSE by actually taking your money on the point of order then basically saying we might ask you for more
 
Well I genuinely never saw any info about potential price increase after the fact and I even pdf printed the invoice at the time of order because the order itself didn't show in my account immediately. Nothing on there about it being a placeholder preorder price.

I've watching intently what happens with the 160+ in the queue before me because I'm fairly confident the fireworks will kick off before I'm even up on deck.

Funny that place has now removed any reference to price-guarantee from the pre-order page.

They were already charging higher than MSRP at launch for some cards (Astral was £30-40 extra) so trying to justify with exchange rates post sale isn't very convincing.

Hesitant to say anything myself, last time I complained about their 30 series launch they banned me from the 3080Ti onwards FE sales. Was also blocked from the 4090/ 4080 FE sales for a few months.

If any AIB started raising their prices to the point it would eat into OCUK’s profit margins then OCUK would do the same and have you pay the difference before shipping.

The only reason this isn’t happening just now is because OCUK already tacked on a hefty price increase.
