NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

It's hard to be excited about how any retailer has acted with this launch to be honest. Between the insane scalping at some retailers and while said competitor didn't do that at first, they still have their pre-order price increase nonsense and prebuild queue jumping. Admittedly I have some sympathy in that I bet the 5090 especially has been a lot of effort for very little money since there wasn't much stock to sell, but likely takes up a lot of support power with people asking where stuff is etc, but I dunno if it justifies the £600+ price jumps, lol.
Seeing Palit gamerocks listed for 2999 elsewhere. Drip feeding stock throughout the day literally 1 at a time. That thing was meant to be close to MSRP. Just gross

How can you prove when they changed the policy and that it was not in force at the time you ordered?
Screencaps of terms on purchase (including specific areas they updated) -- I have took a bunch considering tomfoolery of past launches. Also, they modified the order confirmation emails (of which I have an example).

In terms of system build queue jumping. I’m seeing no evidence of that at the minute at the place I order from anyway. It’s very much a first come first served basis this time around. And I was able to secure previous cards this way quite easily.

Just think there is very little stock overall like you say.

Some people saw their position go backwards so that was the assumption why, but who knows what it could have been

Things could be worse.
In the US not only are retailers scalping they are only selling cards in bundles.

If you want an MSI 5090 you also have to purchase their ultra high end PSU at the same time.

Could be, but, personally, I have already had a system build pushed back 10 days next month.

Certainly could be one of the reasons, but the scarcity affects all.

Going to wait and see if i get an email when stock comes in for the 5080 I have preordered if they are going to expect a bigger payment or not and decide then if ill just wait or not, It's annoying buying new hardware these days

That is a grim tactic for sure!
They've been doing that for years in the US. I recall for the GTX 480 launch - a launch that had several parallels with this one - you could barely find a card that was outside of a mobo/CPU/PSU bundle. I also remember people resorting to buying from Canadian stores who were more apt to sell cards individually. Now, since it's really only 3-4 resellers, you have little option.

Dropped 0 places since Jan 30th - TUF 5090 OC
Thought I saw 3 of them earlier (at least when I clicked on it as I just happened to see a Discord drop) on the continent. 3100 euro IIRC.

At least there is some managing to get to stores. Certainly seems to have been a few 80s and 90s landing in Germany today.

Hmm, I wonder if that helps stopping scalpers? I am sure the stores would claim that was their plan all along!

Well hardware unboxed seemed to imply it's not really just the retailers. Apparently the distributors in Australia were forcing retailers to buy other products to get 5090 cards, so consequently the retailers end up passing it down the chain.

Other place saying they received a small batch of 5090 suprim liquid. When the queue position updates we'll know what a "batch" looks like
