Sounds about right. At £600 it will sell well for a while and get a good reception. But won't claw back the kind of market share they need to be getting back imo.

My prediction is they waited for nvidia. Now they will price it at £649 or there abouts. Die hards fans will be happy as it is cheaper than nvidia. Will sell well for 3-6 months, but it just won't move the numbers they need to to make a big dent in market share by the end of the generation.

Its seem obvious AMD will price it high but I don't want to believe they would be so dumb to go £799.
I think it will be £599 (none XT) and £699 for the XT.

In fairness (and I've mentioned this before) but he's right.

He's not saying the card is going to be bad if it's (much) more than $550, he's saying it won't be a success. HUB calculated that AMD offered their RDNA3 cards at around 17.5% less than their competitors, and that wasn't enough to move the needle. So they need to price even lower.

Basically they need to give an option where it's just so cheap that paying more for their competition would be silly, like they did with Ryzen.

Imo, the reason a lot of people swerved AMD last gen was largely based on being told their Raytracing sucks and FSR is inferior to DLSS..

AMD NEED to match NVIDIA on RT, they can't stay 1-2 generations behind NVIDIA anymore, not now new games are coming out with RT as a requirement

I agree - but even if that is no longer true with RDNA4, people will still believe exactly that.

I mean people are still hung up on AMD drivers when that hasn't been an issue for many years.

This is why they need to get people on board. People will just parrot what they're being told unless they try for themselves.

they need their own Cyberpunk, a game that they can work with long term to showcase incredible visuals.

whoever at NVIDIA who thought of the sponsorship with Cyberpunk over ray-tracing and showcasing their new tech was a genius..

Some kind of upcoming game, or a game that already exists that they can showcase what their cards can do, to get some buzz in the gaming sphere..
