Because they waited for the next generation, expecting more price/perf. Like any other normal time. Except the Nvidia cards turned out rubbish and there are no other cards in stock now.Well, people upgrading now didn't think the price perf was worth it 6 months or less ago, so why do they now when it's no better (IE scalped prices)?
It's high demand and incredibly low supply. That's why prices are so high.It's the scalped/price gouged prices I don't understand.
There are no other options if you want that performance and waited for the next gen.It's bizarre that people said no to a 4080 super for £900 last year but then say yes please for a £1400 5080 that offers a measly 15% increase
