OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

except AMD has stated that the rebate wasnt just for launch day if i recall?

Retailer "encouragement" whatever that means. Stock seems plentiful, it's on AMD to do the wheeling and dealing.

Because the 2023 launches were poor value for money and it was only well into 2024 where the average street prices for the new generation were decent.

At which point rumours were Blackwell was going to be released before then end of the year. So people naturally held off.

Do you know anyone with another PC?
Sadly not, but this is the third card I've had in this system in the last month or so (the other two were a 6700xt and a 3080) and it's the only one that has a problem. I've tried setting the PCIe to gen 4, it's got a 5700x so no iGPU (which makes troubleshooting a royal pain in the backside), so I'm out of ideas. And to be honest, it should be giving a video signal if it's working properly.

I won’t blame AMD or Nvidia for retailers price gouging, but they are at fault for poor sock production. For now AMD do se to be supplying more cards through the channels. That should help keep scalping to a minimum. At least those clowns trying to flog them on eBay are ******.

can we have some guaranteed sell for us non scalpers / gamers , i dont mind driving to overclockers , sold my 4070ti for this card and now i cant get one , on launch after 15min trying on overclockers i gave up cause i couldnt open the site but then i managed to buy one from ****** but they canceled it next day , is that even legal what they did

Can't even buy it from the shop. Pretty close to me, but if it's just a warehouse/pickup....

I used to drive to over clockers when they had the shop I only live 20 miles away from it. Drove to get monitor years ago after my old 1 died on me.

Frank on Twitter just said MSRP cards will be in the next batch

You mean this "We are working with our AIBs to replenish stock at our partners ASAP in the coming days and weeks. MSRP pricing (excluding region specific tariffs and/or taxes) will continue to be **encouraged** beyond today so don't despair.".

Then $600 = 466 + 20% VAT = £559. I doubt that will be the case, but one can hope.

it kind of shows you are not a scalper if you collect one piece , scalpers probably buy multiple cards from multiple profiles/tabs open

It's not really 100% the scalpers fault. I mean when you get a buyers who are willing to spend £1006 on a "Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC" on ebay... They could have bought the 5070 ti for that. One seller has four of them, sold 2 already at that price.
