**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Got my Continental All Season Contact 2's fitted now. Much quieter than the avons they replaced and car feels more grippy.

I wouldn't say they are track orientated at all, in fact they're perfect for the road as they are pretty much unmatched in wet conditions for the type of tyre. I have them on my M3 and I have no regrets.

My logic at first was.... They're a much newer design of tyre.

P4s have been out forever. Than and all the tyre shops just stock them round here. Where the p4s as standard. If they have them in, are about an extra £50 each.

To be honest anything is better than the Trianhles that are on currently.... I do low miles is the reason I'm over thinking it.

Thanks for the advice chaps. Also a good plus side to this, went to order..
Sold out for weeks at the places I planned to use.

Ended up using Asda tyres saved £30 and found a new decent tyre place on an industrial estate, had a good chat with the fitter. My usual place is a couple of hours wait and they are moving further away to an even narrower workshop.
 
I had 4 Michelin E-Primacy 245/40/20 fitted to my Polestar yesterday along with with its first MoT. Picked them up from Tyres-Outlet for £170 each which was an absolute bargain, but looking at the reviews afterwards I was not totally convinced I wasn’t being scammed as the website and delivery updates are atrocious, but they did turn up to the F1 Autocentre down here and I paid £100 for fitment.

it’s the third set on the front and second on the rears at 43K, at the last fronts weren’t EV specific so I’ll be interested to see how these compare!
 
Finally ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 6 to replace the absolute ditchfinders that came with my Gold GTD. Managed to get 20% off using National Tyres. Full set for £350.

For context, the tyres I'm replacing still have a decent amount of tread left, which makes me feel a bit guilty about getting rid of them. However, their wet grip is terrible, the road noise is unbearable, and I refuse to put my family's safety at risk by keeping them on the car any longer. I cannot recommend the Sunny Sport Macro NA305—utter rubbish!

I can't recall encountering tyres this poor in many years. I don't suppose it helps that they're classed as touring tyres, no doubt with super flexible sidewalls.
 
Don't feel bad for getting rid, as you say your family's safety is more important than getting some extra life out of those tyres. I had some sunny on an E46 330d that came on when I bought it and they were shocking.

Currently running the Asymmetric 6 on my 440i and they are very good tyres.

Just replaced the fronts on the Golf with like for like, you'll notice better everything!
