What have you done to your car today?

I retrofitted the newer Highland suspension to my 22 Tesla Model 3.
Rear dampers were £120ea direct.
Front assembly (dampers and spring) were £150ea.

Ride comfort was much improved. So was handling.

Had a good one this morning..

There was an audible noise coming from the wheel on the way home last night, got worse with speed. Sounded like a bit of trim or something slapping against the wheel.

Drove the car back and forward on the drive, ran my hands round the tread incase something was lodged, also felt for any loose trim or suspension bits, nothing. Took it another drive with the mrs to get video evidence.

Phoned LR assist this morning incase something was broke. Took the bloke a test drive round the block, definitely something slapping or hanging off, thinks it'll be something silly..

Get back onto the drive, turn the wheel and he spots it immediately.. Massive stone lodged into the tyre tread.

Felt an absolute idiot, I've no idea how I missed it. That'll be 'moron time waster' added to my file :D

Polished the headlights and put ceramic coating on my dad's cars, they look like new now. Few other bits left to sort out before it goes up for sale.

Filled the meth tank and polished out a scuff I received after some bint in traffic decided she wanted my lane as well as hers. She then proceeded to carry on driving and when stopped blamed me!

Polished out scratches from parking scrapes, touched up the stone chips in the paint and used some touchup paint on the leather seats.

On the subject of leather seats, what leather conditioner could I use to put some life back into the black leather seats?

Car started sputtering shortly after lost power and engine warning light came on followed by ABS and traction control.
Checked the coolant and oil level, oil was low so popped to the petrol station to get some more which solved it, just needed a small amount. Figures as it's due its service and already booked in for Monday!

I highly doubt the two things were related.

The stories I heard from my mates who are mechanics, two of them own their own workshops now. The crap the customers come up with, I'm impressed how 'creative' some people can get.

so what is your strategy for cleaning out the chip area before applying paint ? have a few to do myself (fibre glass pencil and IPA work on scratches, but chips are more difficult to get into)
I use sonax satin trim protectant on my bmw pleather seats.

Depends on how bad the stone chips are, if they're small I just carefully apply the paint to overfill the chip and after 48-72h (weather depedant) I use some hard cut compound to blend it in with a microfibre or a hand pad. If its a big stone chip or scratch, I usually do what ChrisFix did in this video:

This guy is also a magician when it comes to fixing stuff without respraying the whole thing... https://www.youtube.com/@cvrpov

Edit: When you use sand paper, its better to use grade that is too fine, than the one that is too coarse. Less work later when it comes to polishing the area out, there's no golden recipie, it all comes with experience from my own experience. One other tip from me, make sure you regurarly clean out the residue from the sanding paper and area you're sanding, if the paper gets clogged up, you won't be making progress..

There's an entire trope for it, "just rolled in". The state of some people's cars after they've had a go at them (or not done anything for years).

some of the **** driving around in the US, particularly in states without safety inspections (the majority... wild...) is absolutely insane.
