Show Us Your Motors!

12 years old and the Leaf is still working fine. Battery is at 79%, so lots of life left in it still.

20 years and 1 month old today - I thought it was an April reg but it turns out it was actually March. Oh well.

To celebrate I treated her to a new steering wheel.
I was going for the NSX-R look. It's a Sparco but fairly close to the shape of the Momo item on the NSX. Wheel is 330mm so a little smaller than stock. I played around with different bosses to get the wheel closer to me. Happy with it.

Have you got any plans for it?

I intended on leaving my G80 alone, then last week I fitted some LED door projector lights and tomorrow I'm getting some carbon mirrors caps fitted. It's a slippery slope.

Yeah I spent a loads on carbon on my f82 set of Conti7s after a diamond cut, springs etc, tbh I’m going to try really hard not too, going to space it then try and resist otherwise I’ll just be spending 1000s on it again

Any idea what's causing this and how to get rid? Tried glass cleaner and still there :(
It goes away when it dries and only appears when it rains or gets wet.

Is this on the glass?

Could be the rain interacting with traffic film.

Looks like the glass needs polishing. A glass cleaner will remove dirt, bugs etc, but not traffic films.

The new Bilt Hamber Re View is excellent. Try it with the Gtechniq AP4

Ping me if you want any help, happy to walk you through it on video or something. Dead easy.

Thanks all, yeh it's on the glass, same on the glass roof. This week Bilt Hamer snow foam and Cleanser-Fluid have turned up so will order the Re View too and the applicator.

Finally :) started out looking for a boxster or Cayman but drove this today and was hooked by the V6 sound. 8 years old, 9000 miles, absolutely immaculate inside and out.
Not totally convinced with the black wheels but will live with them till I decide if I want to change them or not

Picking it up tomorrow :)
Can't get the image tags to work for some reason

Finally sold my first car / 2011 Civic and bought something equally sensible but much nicer. Yes it’s basically reliable, well-made white goods but can’t do anything plug-in atm and I spend a lot of time sat in traffic so this hit the sport for something that’s quiet, comfortable and looks faster than it is. Also fits my skis in easily for the airport run.

2018 IS300h F-Sport with pretty much every extra including adaptive suspension (alas, no heated steering wheel though). Feels like going from a Nokia 3310 to an iPhone. Currently sorting out getting an immobiliser, dashcams and a CarPlay box installed in one go which will make the infotainment feel a lot newer!

You say boring but it'll be more comfortable and better built than a 3 series or C class. Looks nicer too. The red interior isn't for me though.

It’s a bit loud but in real life is more a dark rose than bright red - I’d have been happy with black but this was only the 2nd ever F-Sport I’d seen with adaptive suspension, the Mark Levinson sound system and sunroof so had to compromise somewhere as there are far less of these on AT than the Germans.

It’s eminently sensible but it’s not dull to drive though and sticking it in Sport/Sport+ livens it up a bit more. Also thanks to the previous owner looking after it properly it has the Lexus extended warranty till 2028 / 100k miles and there’s a garage down the road so I feel pretty confident it will never give me any grief!

There's a good Chris Harris video on the GS-F Vs M5. The former being the better car to live with/exploit as a daily even if the M5 has better stats and is generally seen as "better".

This is why driving cars is so important, rather than relying on reviews, opinions and stats.

When I was looking at buying an RCF a couple of months ago, they said the extended warranty is now tied to the servicing; so as long as you service the car with them, they will keep extending the warranty each year up to 10 years/100k miles. Even though your unlikely to need it, sounded pretty good.

I miss my ISF, wish they had made another one.

I was looking for an RC initially but there’s so few for sale and nothing ever had enough of the boxes I wanted ticked for my budget (only ever Takumi models from the 2020’s nearer to £25-30k) so I gave up for saloon life.

I’d love an LC but for context after selling my Honda privately this IS cost about £12k (72k miles) so… not quite in my budget range! :D

The old workhorse turned 21 1 week ago so can legally drink in the states now. :D

Pair of Goodyear Eagle 6's on the front and a new M.O.T 182k miles. Advisory for the rear handbrake which is crap on these and doesn't help when you live in the flattest part of the country and have to put it in reverse to take the key out so the hand brake never gets used! A job for the weekend. It amazes me how clean the engine is too. 0.02 CO on fast idle!

She is a bit tatty on the outside but the drivetrain is mint as I rebuilt all the suspension during covid.
