I’ve not even heard of thoseFor me it was a few years before that. I think my first PC was Intel 486DX with 1mb S3 ISA graphics card. Just a few upgrades since then![]()

Mental isn’t it?! I went for 64GB as RAM is fairly cheap now. Wasn’t that long ago I had 16GB which if I had kept that machine and plugged in my 5090, which I probably could have got away with at 4K, would have meant I had more VRAM then RAM!I’ve not even heard of thoseClearly not well read enough on PC hardware. Sorry. My first pc had a 256mb ATI graphics card, although i didnt really game on it. The fact I may soon have the same amount of VRAM as system memory is slightly nuts.
I jumped on the AM5 bandwagon just after the 7800X3D launch, so 64GB of 6000C30 RAM was still pricey. The only game i have had issues with is MSFS2024, but it is terribly optimised anyway. I only use my pc for gaming, so 32GB is plenty for now.Mental isn’t it?! I went for 64GB as RAM is fairly cheap now. How do you think I feel… Started with COBOL in the early eighties, then got my first taste of ‘PC’s learning 6502 machine code on the KIM-1 ‘computer’, quickly going on to learn 6502 assembly (Acorn Atom - much easier than writing code yourself in Hex), and Z80 assembly. Worked as a programmer writing software for the BBC Micro and ZX80/81/Spectrum which paid for my first flying licence. Left programming behind when I discovered I could get paid to fly….That's when I feel tad old. I learnt programming on a 80286 with monochrome Hercules graphics.

They had the Ice version 2 days ago for £2899.99. You've waited this long, might as well get what you really wantI'm still waiting for a Gigabyte 5090 master Ice, and noticed last night that Overclockers has the Master none ice in stock and I was tempted but my build is all white....
Cool. Sure sounds like your cable for sure so a new one should fix it. Undervolting will help more than a power decrease. Lots of advice on the technical thread...Update on my build: A huge radiator and thick fans with a very short plug. It went in the side of the 5000D because it didn't fit on the top. And it can't be reversed either, so I am now exhausting on the side, back and top, intake is on the front alone. The glass panel closes with no issue. Temps are low 50 in game for both the Astral LC and for the 9800x3d. Finally, I don't have to use frame gen to get a decent performance, lol.
I had to set power target to 90%, otherwise the per pin ampere check would trigger. I am replacing PSU next week, going from a corsair AX1600i to a seasonic prime tx-1600 noctua edition, hope that fixes this. Although, the performance has not changed by reducing power target.
Didn't get a notification email that it was in stock and didn't check the forum/websiteThey had the Ice version 2 days ago for £2899.99. You've waited this long, might as well get what you really want
The notification didn't pop. Gibbo let everyone on the forum know 5 mins before they went live and pretty much everyone that was active on the forum at that time got whatever they wanted. I would just keep an eye out or straight up ask Gibbo when the Ice version is expected to arrive. He's been very forthcoming with information/updates and will probably respond if he sees your post.Didn't get a notification email that it was in stock and didn't check the forum/website![]()

This renders my 4yo. 3070 nearly un-sellable.5060 Ti now Live from £349 / £399
Good that you saw the light.4K 240hz is life. Fight me.
I can’t believe I was ‘content’ on console with 30-60fps until 5 years ago. I should have switched earlier, especially as a big time FPS fan.
Sounds exactly like my return to PC gaming except for the fact I used to hate micro stutter and poor controller support on a lot of pc games. Now there's a much better unified experience switching over to PC now than there was before, as well as console exclusives mostly coming over now or launching day and date, it's a much better time to make the switch last 5 years.Get 4K 240hz is life.
