NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Sorry, what, pardon....house move AND a 2 year old. It shall be a nice system to look at haha. Good luck!
Thank you my friend, yes hectic. Now the debate raging in my head is do I build in peace at night while the little one is asleep or build in front of him daytime and that may give him a nice memory (if he remembers at all). Only downside to latter is he will probably be tempted to grab every thing he sees and will cause havoc. Not to detract from the topic of this thread, I wish all those on pre-orders and upcoming drops luck and smiles!

Definitely the latter. Even if he doesn't remember it, you will, and you will have some lovely pictures! :)

A depressing morning stat for you all. The rip off Astral LC is 70% more than than the 5090 FE. No wonder it is still in stock.

I predict with the 6090 we will see an AIB card that is 100% more than the 6090 FE.

Think they've already been that in the US a month or two back, before tariffs, about 4200/4300 I've seen mentioned.

The 6090 will probably start at 3k and go up to 5k+.

100% share the experience and capture you together. He will remember when he's older...

When do rumours about Super cards start appearing? 5080 for 999-1029 is a very tempting offer, but I have a feeling the 5080 super might have 24gb VRAM which will make me devastated

On this, I managed to snag an FE from the last drop almost a month back, pure luck sitting on my PC working and a notification for a 5090 for the reduced MSRP. I thought surely this is a bug, no 5090 is priced as such (was not aware Nvidia reduced the price at the time). Got to the buy screen and could not believe my luck. Went to check out and I even had time to wait and get my Amex code to complete the purchase. When the card arrived, box stated I was 124 out of 144. Pic attached. Either all the bots bought the ones before and they only snagged up to a 100 or so, or perhaps there were a genuine 144 of us that got lucky with this drop. Judging from the auction place, most get scalped unfortunately.

Also seems from manufacture to getting to UK shores takes about a month +/-

i got an FE in that batch but I preferred my Palit over it as it was a lot cooler and a bit quieter. Nice looking card but we look at our monitors most times i guess :D

Is the Aorus the biggest 5090? I always thought it was the Suprim but I guess not
The Aorus Master, Astral and Suprim are pretty much the same size, give or take half a cm here and there.
  • Astral: 358 x 149 x 76 / 3042 g
  • Suprim: 359 x 150 x 76 / 2840 g
  • Aorus Master: 360 x 150 x 75 / 3100 g
Edit: updated with dimensions.

I think it is the ‘largest’. It’s just a big ol’ brick… whereas the Suprim is a little more ‘sculptured’.

Even though the on paper dimensions on paper are similar they are a bit misleading.
I trust your judgement, as one of only a handful of people on the planet to have experienced all three in hand. :D

Odd question, but are the fans on all of them c.100mm? I do think that some AIB cards could eek out marginally better performance by using slightly larger fans that go right to the edges (the FE cards do this), but i guess they just use off the shelf sizes for the most part.

I’m not immediately sure. They’re all pretty big… looks like it.

I would say that the Suprim seemed to have the best / quietest fans of the set at low-ish speeds, for what it’s worth, with a very slight whistle at higher speeds.

The Aorus does have this weird ‘fan wind down’ sound, as people have mentioned but it’s not a biggy. I’d say Aorus fans look a degree wobblier but this has zero impact on function as far as I can see.

Astral has the four fans so can sound loud, but this is easily managed via software. It feels the most premium: ‘well polished’ and ‘opulent’.

Out of all of them (assuming they worked  ) I’d pick the Aorus… I love how chonky it is and the support is just brilliant, puts the others to shame!
