Only missing one off a 10/10 because I would have preferred a different ending.

I think a negative ending/him being stuck in a 'bad' one could have been better but that would never pass in Hollywood

Which ending did you watch? I've watched the original theatrical release, with the "happy" ending, and the Directors Cut.

Evan goes back to him in the womb and strangles himself with the umbilical cord and then it's shown that better outcomes are most likely for other characters.

Magazine Dreams - 7/10

Separating the art from the artist, Jonathan Majors delivers an amazing performance and it is an interesting film, a little slow and not necessarily satisfying but worth watching just for the performance and inside perspective of bodybuilding and mental health.

It Feeds - 7.5/10

This was surprising, was expecting it to be another cliched trashy horror from a B list cast. But I thought it was really well done, good acting, nicely delving into trauma and lays out the 'concept' early on as in accept it or don't. If you're a horror fan definitely check it out. Actually quite a similar concept to the aptly named 'It Follows' just with a different vibe.

Sinners - Set in the 1930s, twin brothers return home from Chicago, who are trying to establish themselves to build a future. A young musician who is with them has a talent for music that even the darkness cant resist. As with all Ryan Coogler movies its has a strong black representation similar like Black Panther where the story revolves around this theme where suddenly and shockingly clashes with another type of culture. Michael B Jordan puts in a solid shift and plays 2 characters and they use some really clever effects to seamlessly make the brothers (Smoke and Stack) interact with everyone as well as one another. Other casts Haliee Steinfeld, Miles Carton and Delroy Lindo also play their part well, again nothing too sophisticated or surprising but i felt they accomplished what they set out to do. Jack O'Connell comes across crazy and corny. (those that have seen him SAS Rogue Heros) will surely recognise. The main synopsis was obvious enough and the i felt the movie doesnt really offer anything new or sophisticated however in my opinion it doesnt really detract how entertaining it was. Its a wild ride and does remind you of Dusk till Dawn. It does falter in some parts and it does leave you wondering "and now what?". I thought it could have been even better if the marketing team didnt make a mistake by putting major spoilers in the trailers as the shock and surprise would have had a better effect for the audience. It was still pretty solid 8/10. Definitely well worth the watch in IMAX imo.

Make sure you stay for the early mid credit scene.

Minecraft movie - 6/10 from me, 10/10 from daughter (she’s 10)

I came away thinking it could have been better? I usually don’t mind jack black but I just hated his way over the top acting in every scene. Jason momoa was good though. I kinda wish when they all went through to the Minecraft world they changed to minecraft characters of themselves, think it would have fitted the film better imo. Also the big end battle I kept watching it and thinking it looks a lot like the end battle in Warcraft movie?

iHostage - 1/10

Saw it pop up on Netflix and thought would give it a go. Absolute rubbish. Based on a true story (didn't even hear about it happening tbh) but it's a complete waste of time.
 
Conclave - 6.5 / 10

Yeah, it was okay. I don't know what I expected, but it was almost a little simple, like* a long TV episode, but with a rather slow pace.

Muriel's Wedding, not uncommon to watch old films when I visit my mum and this was a good laugh (Toni Collette's big break).

It's aged fairly well and they make good use of Abba in the soundtrack, plus it's still quite funny. 7/10.
