An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Downloaded and installed, but don't feel too well do will get an early night, hopefully I will feel better tomorrow to give it a go.

I make that £6.9 mill, of which Steam gets a chunk, and so does Microsoft and Bethesda. I can't imagine it cost less then £50 mill to make. Long way to go yet to prove the concept.

We have zero idea how many people subbed to GP to play it nor the commercials involved for having it on there in the first place.

Indeed.

I expect hefty console numbers to boot, I can see this reaching an all time peak of at least 350-450K on Steam and then whatever else on top from other platforms.

"Peak" players is obviously not all purchases either, but it's a solid indicator of success imo and for so soon after release this is doing very well so far.

Wouldnt that then also mean that KCD2 , with a peak twice the size, only came to £14m, which means that KCD2 was also a financial flop?

Managed to get RTX HDR working, so much better than Windows auto HDR. Haven’t used it before.

The game seems to work the cpu pretty hard, especially during loading.

Cor I feel like I got lucky here - I had somehow completely missed there even was a remaster, let alone that it was releasing on the day I heard about it - 3 days after I signed up for Xbox gamepass trial. Enjoying it so far, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it first time around.

Looks really clean and sharp. Only been on an hour and enjoying it mainly for nostalgia. It looks how I “remember” it looking when I first booted oblivion as a kid.

I always feel with UR games that faces look a bit off, and some detail in models isn’t always as sharp as it should be

Anyone able to confirm whether or not level scaling is in this? It was one of the biggest things that put me off in the original, I don't get on in games that punish me for levelling up.
I have a feeling this is one of the reasons I stopped playing it. I'll give it another go once I've finished the first 2 Dragon Age games I'm replaying.

I’m pretty sure it still uses level scaling, as I think the original did? I’ve not met a challenge anywhere I’ve gone so far, everything seems at my level?

It’s interesting playing this again. I remember the jump from Morrowind to Oblivion and how everyone moaned about the handholding, all the quests having an arrow marker to them. That was the start, in modern games we now have a literal path mapped out to the objective, albeit optional in a lot of cases.
