Is there any indication of when 1.1 will come to the main branch?

Usually from memory 6 to 8 weeks from it hitting experimental depends when there happy there got any bugs etc

Don't think there's as many game changing changes on this update so shouldn't be to long I'll give coffee stains 1 thing they only release updates on the main game when it's ready

This is shaping up to be one of my favourite games I think. There is so much scope and freedom to build as complex or simple as you want. I'm just getting coal setup for the first time, probably not optimally but I'm running some long-ass conveyors to the plant which I plonked on a beach closer to the pump.

Best thing you can do is take your time with it. There’s really no rush. My first factory I rushed to complete phase 5, factory was a complete mess. And then the second one I did with a friend and was much slower and enjoyable getting everything running smoothly.

Next up when 1.1 drops is building one with aesthetics in mind :). Tender to generally build horizontally for the most part but planning on building up and creating massive factory buildings with the constructors et al inside. The new options in 1.1 look great. Cant wait to go for a new round!

I keep thinking I should get back to playing Satisfactory. I got sucked into No Man's Sky, so haven't played it at all this year.

Very early when first playing I started vertically stacking storage containers, but it was only when I last played I started trying to do factories vertical.

I run my own Satisfactory server in a container and my biggest "why didn't I think of that sooner" was enabling the option so the game server to kept running after the last player disconnects. With plenty of storage it helped solve the running out of components while playing, especially screws in early stage because all the storage would fill when I wasn't actually playing.

It also has the added benefit of racking up awesome shop tickets if you setup overflow lines or simply just throw some basic stuff into sinks, even just setting up a MK1 miner direct into a sink on a dedicated server will get you a decent amount of tickets early on.

Yeah I did phase one of the elevator but there wasn't much else to do at that point. Then I got the tier 3 and 4 stuff opened so not been rushing towards any of the elevator stuff.

I've seen some amazing setups with all conveyor belts hidden and all sorts but I'm a long way from there, I don't even know or have attempted to build vertically yet.

Does this ever get a F2P weekend? Quite like the idea (Factorio player) but equally I like the laid back aspect of Factorio and wonder if it being 3D is going to feel a bit more hands on and less chill.

It's the opposite tbh - Satisfactory is a lot more chill - the resources don't run out and aliens do not attack your base whereas in Factorio, especially with space age, is constantly firefighting. However the spiders will make you fill your pants when you go exploring.

You can even adjust creature hostility in the settings to make it even more chill.

I feel like the hostility is worth it for the first play through, but once you've got into the game they're mostly just an annoyance and worth turning off. Very different from Factorio where battling them is a key part of the gameplay.

Oh ok thanks, not what I was expecting. Spiders are cool, I'll live :D.

Tbh I play both - just waiting for 1.1 to go on the live server atm. Factorio is great at building mega bases whereas satisfactory is great at building great looking bases/infrastructure. As with these types of games you will always get your money's worth!

Is this as addictive as it looks? I'm having flashbacks to transport tycoon back in the 90s
First game since X-COM Enemy Unknown on my PS1 that had me wondering why there was light coming through my window having started playing for a 'quick go' the evening of purchase

I've been playing both Subnautica and Satisfactory since their alpha days - I repeatedly go back to both. God knows how many times I've replayed the former. There's very little games out there that have this effect.
