Been out looking for him, left litter tray and some worn clothes on the line to try and see if he picks up the scent but no joy it.

He was 10 this year and I've had him since he was 6 weeks :(

We have neighbours (not particularly nice ones) who go away for a couple of weeks and just leave their cat outside. We tend to give her a bit of affection and on occasion food when she's particularly hungry. In exchange, she brings us very carefully selected sticks, leaving them on the back door mat. Sometimes she wails at the top of her lungs to bring attention to the stick :p Has anyone else known cat behaviour like this?

Sticks? No. Pens, yes

Mine used to like biros which are stick like I guess. She would sometimes trot about with them in her mouth and bring one back if I threw it for her.

'Sometimes'. Most of our games usually involved me throwing and fetching things myself.
 
I was in garage looking out and thought saw Ronnie walk under a chair - went out to look and he had a mouse in his gum's - poor little thing had a painful death as Ronnie only has a few teeth - Gumed to death.
Seems he still has it in him

I've got this one:

I keep it upstairs on the landing, away from their food. The filters work well, a bit like a brita and keep the water nice and clean.
Smudge has always liked drinking from taps and asks for them to be turned on. Oscar took a day or so to get used to the fountain, but uses it all the time now. I also keep a couple of bowls of water dotted around and one just outside for rainwater which Smudge seems to enjoy.

I have one, works great Ron drinks from it all the time.
However please don't get a plastic one, you want stainless steel with as little parts as possible due to it's antibacterial properties and helps algae not grow (put in the shade not in direct sunlight). Can get plastic if you want but I feel it's more maintenance to not get disgusting.

Bought a chunk for £1 and can cut out a filter every month for 2 years with it (the filters are reusable but I liketo just replace it as its so cheap) The fountain I linked is a simple rectangle filter easy to cut out. Water stays clean and fresh for quite some time but I give it a quick wash every 1- 2 weeks or so, doesn't take much as it's stainless steel.

we just use one of the normal looking cyldinder ones and change the water every day or 2, they also have access to a massive dog water bowl that gets changed a few times a day, not our dogs my sisters ones and their about mid size and one has kidney problems so drinks a hell of a lot :)

my wee black and white dougal used to bring leaves to the door and made sure we knew about it lol i miss him, he used to sit there all proud with his newest leaf :)
