At £10 per 35mm roll for TIFF scans, I’ve dropped a small fortune on film scanning so far. Picked this up on eBay for £200 which is about half the going rate. Will hopefully pay for itself in a few months.

I thought it was a rice cooker... :D

Going to get a label printed off to send back the Kodak Gold 200 that i shot in Edinburgh last week. Unfortuntaley didn't enough time to break out the Lomo Metropolis that i wanted to shoot so that went back into the freezer.

What are you going to shoot the Santacolor with? It's respooled Kodak Aerocolor IV which has a clear base making for interesting results when scanned. Some people even process it in E6 for positives, although if you want to do this it would benefit from a warming filter. Enjoy!

No plans with it as of yet or with the lomo. Just when I looked at the sample photos I quite liked the colour tones so thought I'd bag a film of each.
 
Picked this up from LCE used. I say used but someone had clearly got it with a kit and never taken it out of the box. I have a trip to Japan coming up and wanted to rationalise my digital kit to one lens so that I can lug around the Bronica or the Elan 7NE. I was considering winging it with a 28mm or 23mm but I've chickened out.

It generally doesn't get a lot of love, being criticised for lack of corner sharpness and being restricted by max aperture of f/4. However I think it's damn sharp for a zoom, and f/4 really isn't restrictive with the excellent OIS. On my X-S10, I did a test last night. 80mm, handheld at 1s was more than adequately sharp. 1/2s was tripod sharp. Perhaps my standards are low! I'll be doing more tests later but I reckon at the wide end I'll be able to handhold up to 2s or longer.

You reminded me 2 things

I am not going alone this time, but with a friend I met when I was in Japan 6 years ago (from HK, we both speak Cantonese). Another trip?! Time to get your own place out there Raymond! Sounds like you’re going to have a great time.

With the flash trigger, do you hand hold the flash or put it on a stand somewhere? Also what flash do you use? I don’t have one for the Fuji and would really like one with E-TTL and flash compensation etc…

I also considered moving to an X-T5 but after holding one in the shop I don’t think I would get on with it. The grip on the X-S10 is one of my favourite features. Maybe a 3rd party grip might help.

Lol, I wish I can just move there, it might be easier (actually much easier) for my to move to HK and take weekend trips to Japan.

The Godox flashes that I have are for my Sony bodies, the hotshot of the flash won't and can't be mounted onto the Fuji, but they work wireless with the trigger. Typically when I shoot flash photos I have it off camera anyway so in this instance, this works fine. As to how, I either place it down, or they all come with a little feet to let them stand up, or you can get what hotshoe brackets that adapt them onto a tripod/lightstand. I am just going to bring one of those feet and place them on anything that I can find.

I agree, the X-S10's ergonomic is much more superior, but the the X-S10 won't let me centre the focus point but double clicking the stick annoys me everyday lol

I just tested it with the X100vi as well, trigger works as expected. Very tiny, USB-C charging.

This is my most used lens, realistically its not that big or heavy, has a good range, has ois and is weather sealed. I do find that closer to 80mm it is quite soft but it's still very usable.

A very under-appreciated lens IMO. I’ve owned it twice and both copies I was very happy with. F4 is more than adequate and the images wide open are perfectly fine. Stopping down to just f5.6 yields superb results across the focal range.
Additionally, 80mm @ f4 makes this a passable portrait lens with very pleasing bokeh.
The fact that people are selling this lens for as low as £300 boggles the mind.

The only reason I no longer own it is because I was on a mission to make my X-mount gear as small and light as possible owing to my growing GFX setup. So it has been replaced with the new 16-50mm.

Bye bye Sony. I made a bit of an error buying the FX30 for my main use case, which is filming climbing videos. I quite often shoot vertical and crop in quite hard, and the distortion on APS-C in the corners looked really pants, not to mention having to do the 3.2x crop and sharpen the hell out of it, which took hours and hours of rendering.

The Panasonic S5ii shoots 6k 5952x3968 open gate, so I get plenty of cropping power without losing fidelity. Can't quite maintain 1:1 when shooting vertical, but good enough.

You don't realise how utterly awful Sony interfaces and controls are until you try something else, jeez, the Lumix is just instantly intuitive, much better features (waveforms, amazing)....and costs a fair chunk less.

The 20-60 is perfect for me too, as I need the wide end.

Picked up from Faceache marketplace. Provia is out of stock everywhere with a UK stock drop expected later this month. However 50% increases on colour positive stock prices were implemented by Fuji in April, so a box of 5 is likely to cost £100-120 retail. I got this for £70.

Have you had a few Sony cameras in the past then? I never really considered Panasonic up until now. I was maybe going for a Sony a7 IV or Sony a7CR, (main use being photography). Is there any particular high res Panasonic camera you would suggest tking a look at?

I got myself Nikon 58G lens, but while I love the images from it, its too big for myself (mounted with FTZ on Zf), so selling it.
I wish Nikon made new version Z mount of that lens.
