Hi all, not clued up in the slightest when it comes to this stuff so any help would be much appreciated.
Also not looking to re-use any components.

Purchase Timeframe: 2 Weeks or so

Budget:£1500-£2000

Usage: Gaming at 1080p

Preferences: Preferably Nvidia GPU

Current Hardware: AMD Radeon RX 5700xt, AMD Ryzen 2700x, 16gb DDR4 RAM, 750w psu

Peripherals: None

Special Needs/Requirements: None

Thanks in advance

I will probably stick with 1080p as I only play the odd few Story games.

What exact monitor do you have, and if you're unsure what refresh rate is it? It might still be worth an upgrade even if you prefer 1080p but it does depend.

Are there any particular games you focus on playing?

My monitor is 240Hz. The main games i play at the moment are Rainbow six siege and rust.

Thanks for that. Is there much difference between the 5070 and the 5070ti?

Around 20-30%, the biggest difference is arguably the extra VRAM on the ti.

That said, neither of your main games should have a problem running on the 5070 at 1080P unless there's a V-RAM heavy mod scene for Rust, I know it can be CPU intensive but a AM5 X3D CPU should take care of that and is already specified.

Thanks a lot for the information. Also might be a stupid question but will any PC case fit the stuff Tetris suggested or does it have to be a certain size etc..

You might want to double check on the GPU and HSF, most modern will accommodate that given you're not going smaller form factor but be sure to check dimensions.

The case recommended will fit either, some others might not. It's rare you'll run into the problem but it's not one you want to find last minute, if you're interested in a specific case just pop it in here and we can verify for you.

Is there any upgrades from what Tetras suggested that would be a noticeable increase in fps still inside my budget?
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,736.80 (includes delivery: £0.00)

middle of your budget
if you want to blow the budget at exactly £2k, then swap out the 5070ti for the 5080:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £2,007.76 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Yes. If you want more FPS, upgrade the GPU first.

You could go for a cheaper CPU and a better GPU and you might be CPU limited in some instances but not many and you'd see a decent performance uplift.

More VRAM is better and if it was my money, I would go for a minimum of 16gigs. 12gigs of VRAM isn't bad but 16 is better, especially if you move to 1440P gaming in the future.

Edit: Any of the above builds will be great.

After seeing all of your recommendations I’m torn between the 5070ti and the 5080 even tho I’ve seen a lot of people say the 5070ti isn’t good but I will definitely see a difference compared to my current Gpu.

People largely said that some Nvidia GPUs weren’t good for the price.

If you can get a 5070 Ti at a good price, it becomes a much better option.

5080 is about 15% faster. If you're trying to achieve playability at very high settings (e.g. ultra at 4K) then it can make sense, but if you're staying at 1080p I'd just go with the 9800X3D upgrade.
