An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

So I am running via GeForce Now and this Remastered version is silky smooth at 4k RT no stresses.

I am using my linked Game Pass cross platform acc for shared saves which was also trouble free via my Series X.

However, I have noted GFN has been much better for cloud gaming recently compared to XBox Cloud which is struggling on all but super fast connections.

Notwithstanding, I initially only swapped to GFN temporarily as messed up a quest thanks to an XBox Cloud lag moment and had corrupted saves (Thieves Guild The Ultimate Heist). Running on GFN PC version meant I could command console in the Elder Scroll that had bugged out, something not possible via console. Ok so it's disabled achievements but it was that or have no way to complete The Ultimate Heist and Thieves Guild quest line.

Best of both worlds really, can run in PC mode for console commands and still on Console for shared saves.

This is a useful feature for other cross platform titles esp for games included in game pass.

GFN isn't great. Expensive, queues and limited session lengths. Meh. No good if you like MMORPGs.

I found it really good on the 6 month ultimate offer I had the end of last year. Certainly no queues on that package. I think session length was something like 6 hours, which is plenty for most. I think my longest was about 2 hours.

just got a new sword a 2 handed claymore which i think lowers the enemies health stat and makes them vulnerable to magic which is handy as my destruction magic skill is about level 90 odd now and can recharge that weap with my umbra :D

Decided to give the shivering isles a go and I really don't remember any of the story at all. I do wonder if I ever got round to completing it (I have now).

Is there a "instant death" mod when you're a vampire, if you go out in the daytime you burst into flames?

At day 12 I think I was killed in about 30 seconds, possibly less, but it certainly wasn’t instant.

Thankfully completed the vampirism quest the other day. Just hope I don’t have to do it again if I get bit again!

I think I enjoyed The Shivering Isles the least, I genuinely didn't enjoy the game play or the story from what I remember back at the time.

I'm level 31 now and not too far from completing the main quest, I'll give it another go once I'm done!

Yeah though a lot of effort went into it I don't find Shivering Isles that interesting, though it has some unique items.

Urgh these forced Oblivion gate missions, these levels are so boring i can't believe they put so many in the game, does anyone actually clear them all?

So I have a way around this, it's quite scummy though.

I downloaded the achievement unblocker, then I type ghost in the console commands and then just cheese my way to collect the stone and close the gate. It's the only way I enjoy the game as the Oblivion gates are dire.

A small number aside, there are like 4-5 quest layout ones where you can't immediately go for the sigil stone, most of them with decent enough points in athletics and acrobatics, etc. you can just cheese them and run straight through, grab anything interesting and go straight for the stone.

Sadly they are very samey after you've done them a couple of times and not the most interesting of content.

(Or you could just use console commands but personally I'm at least trying to sort of play the game hah though I'm cheesing a lot of the more tedious content).

I guess it's a game from 2006 so what should you expect...but the quests are quite ****. Finding it pretty boring to play. The graphics are really nice at times so I'm plodding along.

I played the original for 200 hours it's funny how our opinion shifts in time.

Not sure what you mean? There are about six to eight that the MQ makes you clear. There rest are voluntary. The voluntary ones will keep respawning until you complete the MQ. As you close each one, another opens. I believe there are about 90 sites they can appear at, and depending on where you are with the MQ up to 40 can be active. If you all sites, then they respawn at sites already cleared.

I once cleared 54 in a game to see how much they varied. Not much.
