TV Licence Super Thread

I even had a hand signed letter last month threatening a visit. No one has turned up.

When I filled out the online form in the past I never put my name, just "legal occupier" in the name box. You shouldn't give them a name as any kind of legal action is a dead end without one. Now I just CBA.

That tacky letter they send with the fake stamp on it that says “official visit approved” or whatever, stuff like that really gets my goat lol.

I haven’t paid in a few years. On average, I receive a letter every other week. Filling out a form online seems to trigger a frenzy — suddenly, I get even more letters, and now they’re addressed to me personally. Eventually, they switch back to “The Legal Occupier.” The system must be cost-effective, or they wouldn’t spend so much money chasing it.

I moved into my current property 5 years ago and also filled out the online form and I haven't received one letter. It seems to be very random how they decide who to harass and who not to.

Never had a threatening letter either and just fill in the online form every so often when they send a reminder letter
Been doing this over 10 years

The best thing I ever did was cancel the TV license! I will NEVER ever pay them another penny. I do not watch live TV at all, I doubt I could watch it now it I tried.

The BBC should dissolved, all it is now, and has been for decades past, is a propaganda arm for the government - and while I have the option not to pay you can be damn sure I won't.

Evil biased scummy organisation!

That will be us out if they make any significant increases. We rarely watch live TV any more and mostly stream.

I think the BBC are deluded if they think increasing the fee will prolong the gravy train. It's more likely to cause a wholesale domino effect of people sacking it off for good.

Make it subscription only and cut your cloth accordingly.

Haven't watched live TV in around 14 years now. The only time I feel I've missed out are events like the Olympics, which I watched using a sub service anyway.

I don't hate the BBC but I'm far from a fan. Their time is running out and they're too arrogant to see it still.

I'm getting some serious love from the BBC, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside..

Just a few more to go, then they'll all get lobbed back in the mail back to them.

if you read davis's speech (like stupid grimes probably didn't) , what is more amusing is the bbc doubling down on truth checking , likewise Israel calling them out as pro-hamas
however, after hearing last nights c4 interview with haartz editor where they said Israeli media show nothing of what is happening in gaza to palesrinians,
maybe we/uk need a bastion of truth and fair reporting.
still need some proposals of where funding for news comes from if the license fee goes away.

Karoline Leavitt did a decent job of calling the Beeb out as well (I wont post the clip as I'll probably be accused of "politics")

still need some proposals of where funding for news comes from if the license fee goes away.
Why? Are the soon to be defunct beeb the only news outlet out there?
The BBC are doing a fantastic job of nailing their own coffin shut, and I say leave them to it.
