Potential for Stroll to at least miss Canada, their usual replacements (Drugovich and Vandoorne) are racing at Le Mans that weekend.
Could see Bottas step in for a fellow Mercedes customer maybe? Although I guess its possible that either would choose and F1 race over Le Mans...

I'm pretty sure Drugovich would choose to race in F1 over competing in Le Mans. Replacing Stroll for a few races - or even one - is his only remotely realistic chance of getting an F1 seat. Otherwise, that dream is dead.

Agreed, just depends upon what's in either contract for f1 and for Le Mans, one might override the other. We shall see but with Soffel also at Le Mans as well a bit of a headache for AM..

Canada seems to clash with the Indy 500, which I'm not too fussed about. Although this year it clashes with the 24 of Le Mans, which is a shame, as you'd think the FIA wouldn't clash its own events!

Glad we start '26 in Australia as it should be. Big shame for Imola, not another street circuit. Yawn :o

And I saw this earlier... can't post in the Spanish thread so I presume this goes here. But not this clown again. How does he still have a job as a steward? It all makes sense now from last weekend.

“I think everyone has to realise that if you are a driver who is used to winning like Max, it is very difficult when things go against you in a race that on paper, with three stops, looks like you could win.

And we all know he’s a winner."
“Whereas if you watch this video, it seems to me that although he dove in, he then did turn away from George, but momentum pushed him against George."
So, not only is he in denial that Max drove into George deliberately, but apparently poor old Max is just simply used to getting his own way and that should have been taken into account when dishing out the penalty? What planet is this guy on? That first statement alone proves he's not fit as an impartial steward.

In all fairness, Derek Warwick has always been a plonker so this is nothing out of the ordinary for him.

The 2026 Formula 1 calendar has been published. One private pre-season test in January, and then two public test in February. Racing gets underway in Australia again, thankfully, and Barcelona is getting swapped out for Madrid. Nothing else catches my eye as notable.

Isnt Barcelona still on there? Looks like it just Imola that has been dropped.

The FIA has granted Red Bull an an exemption to the age limit for Arvid Lindblad meaning that he can be granted a superlicense and appear in F1 before his 18th birthday. Ostensibly this is intended to allow him to appear in free practice sessions earlier, but it would hardly be a surprise if he was brought in to Racing Bulls this year.
This way Arvin, the Red Bull meat grinder is hungry for more victims...

Lindblad is viewed as the best Red Bull prospect since Max, his potential is deemed to be considerably higher than the likes of Albon, Gasly, Lawson and Tsunoda, all of whom were never considered elite prospects.

That said no 17-18 year old is going to come into that team and challenge Max regardless of how good they are.

Id like to see him go up against Hadjaar

Stroll confirmed as being able to drive in Canada. He's had a successful 'surgical procedure' which has eased the pain in his wrist.

Seems an awfully quick recovery time to me. Suspiciously quick, even.

It's pretty common for drivers to come back quickly after treatment, and we don't know what he was actually having done anyway so who knows what the recovery time would be for more normal folk. That said, I find it really odd that they've rushed him back after this so clearly resulted from rushing him back first time round. Give him time to fully heal.
