This, was 2 years exclusively driving an EV before my fiance got her car, thought I'd struggle a bit, but other than some slightly jerky clutch control at first it was like riding a bike
still need to see how manufactures might limit the v2g use to protect battery warranty (battery warrantied 100K, 8years - or 25K KWhrs ?)
responsive ICE - if you are driving an ICE in manual you have it ready to deliver (clarksons) torques if you need it to be responsive, following people in autos you see them bogging down
because they aren't in the right gear at roundabouts.
also it's power in the over-taking zone 50-70 that matters, where ev motors drop off vs ice (weight hurts too) roll on 2-speed motors like new merc cla.

an average EV will still have more than enough poke to overtake a slow vehicle at 50-70. not saying there are not faster ICE cars at that speed (than an average EV) but apples with apples an eniro for instance will cope better than an ICE niro at any legal speed I would wager.
I don't know what car you drive... there are plenty of ICE cars which will beat mine but given your inability to actually commit to anything in this thread but I am fairly confident my EV will not have any trouble matching your ICE car from 50-70

Frankly no one really knows what car he drives. It’s all a bit moot comparing as we are also muddling shopping cars and performance cars.
One benefit of the good old permanent motor is the continuous performance it offers before thermal derate. Nothing about mine drops off 50-70. It’s frankly comedy in an IPACE in dynamic mode. Did a couple today and TED is seconds on two vehicle overtakes (Time exposed to Danger)
I fear we are degenerating the thread of performance into a PlayStation Gran Tourismo sound off here, all these paper stats need screwing up and throwing in the bin, especially referencing CLA with 2 speeds no one has even driven whilst overlooking the fact it can’t even charge on 400V chargers!

what evs have you driven to say that regarding 50- 70?
Amd what car do you currently drive, assuming you've past your test.
For the last four years I've been hopping from a M235i that had a ecu tune, thus 349ps and 536Nm, and faster than my i4, into a 1.0 Fiesta and back.
Both have their attributes but I quite like chucking the Ford about around corners and the feel transmitted from the controls is far better than both BMW's and it would run circles around the majority of ev's, then there is also the challenge of having only 99ps brings. The i4 feels detached from what is going on, a bit 'floaty' around the twisty bits and the steering definitely doesn't give anything like the feedback the fiesta gives, the drive is just too sanitised.
Whilst ev's are great they aren't superior to ice's, both are just different with each having their positives and negatives and I feel it is incorrect to suggest all petrol engined car are inferior.

2 speed is likely to hurt 50-70 anyway as it will be in the longer second gear at that phase!
(in blue peter style) ok 50-70 not improved much with 10:5 , it's motorway cruising that delivers
Can you link octopus directly to your charger instead. Not had any issues with mine set up that way ?
I'm using the granny charger currently, when I setup the car within Octopus it has the option in there for 3 pin charging.
However what should the settings be within the MyBMW app for charging if using Octopus to control it, is it timed or charge immediately?
Mine is set to charge immediately but the Ohme app links to the Octopus app and it only charges in my set slots. Tbh I have no idea how you would do it with a granny charger I’m afraid. I used a timer plug when I was using the granny so it only charged when on cheap rate.

That's fine and I appreciate your help, I think having it set to a schedule with the MYBMW app might have been the issue as I switched it to charge immediately, setup the car within the Octopus app and I could bump the charge within that app. So it must be communicating ok now, but we'll see what it does overnight.

My BMW app is set to charge immediately, my OHME charger is linked to Intelligent Octopus and i set the charge schedule in my OHME app to 80% by 5:30am with dynamic charging set to on so it only charges during the cheaper times.
