Murderbot - AppleTV+

I really like this other than episodes are so short. I think Alexander Skarsgård is excellent choice.

I watched it all 5 or 6 episodes in 1 sitting which is odd for me, yes 20 min episodes is harsh in 2025 :P

Its alright/good. Skarsgård is very good. Reminds of the damn super soldier from stargate though.. but thats a me problem
Its a bit like a modern Jonny 5 story
Its interesting, maybe ill have to look at the books, i have a feeling they will be better.

The run time on this show kills me.

If anyone was watching it from the start I'd say wait until it's all out then easily binge it in 2 sessions.
Honestly at this rate they need to cut out the episodes intro/ credit so you can sit on one sitting to watch it at the seasons end.

Just seeing that apparently straight after the last episode airs reactor.com (used to be tor.com who are IIRC the publisher) will be releasing a new murderbot short story set almost immediately after the second book. I think would be the third such short they've released, and whilst not essential for the books they fill in some gaps and are fun.

tbh was basing it more on the episode titles but itsbecuase i always see : all systems red
and the latest epidode i saw the title as the same.
i made the wrong connection.

on the plus side that means we have a lot of content to look forward to then

I thought overall it was pretty good.

I don't think I'm compelled to start downloading audiobooks to get more whilst waiting for S2.
It's a fun idea, they executed it well enough, very quirky goofy actors and characters.
I'll be surprised if it gets a season 3 but by then it'll probably peak interest in the books.
It's all about the character interaction so hope the next story is of a similar calibre.

Glad it's been renewed. Overall it's not quite as good as the books, I think it could do with more 'sec unit' stuff. Especially the drones and conversations/interactions with security systems.

I'm not sure what they're going to do next though, because the next two novellas don't have any of the characters in them other than sec unit.

Overall I really enjoyed the series, my only complaint really is episode length, I'd have preferred half as many with each one being longer.

Will definitely be picking up S2 whenever it launches.
Agree i don't get how anyone decided some episodes are twice as long

Was a pretty solid series with a diverse cast that didn't feel like forced DEI guff.

looking forward to a second season.

A comment I've seen elsewhere a bit about the series - it is dopey but knows what it is and isn't. Overall I quite enjoyed it and any DEI elements for the most part felt like part of the fabric of it rather than being shoehorned in to tick boxes.
