NIC coming tomorrow. TX201
Turns out it has the same Realtek garbage inside and has the same issue. :(
Straight back it goes. Too hot to be dealing with this now.
Looks like I'll have to live with 100Mbps for now.
I guess at some point I'll have to try an Intel NIC.
Any other suggestions?

Seems like it does run at 1Gbps if I bypass the switch between the patch panel and the router, so it's either the switch or one of the two cables which this Realtek 2.5G hates but my previous PC was fine with.

Shame the eero only has 1 ethernet port. If it had 2 I could live without the switch entirely.

Now the weather is cooler I'm noticing a vibration/grinding noise when idle, it's intermittent and annoying. I assume it's a fan spinning too slowly and struggling to keep spinning. Could be case or cpu cooler.

Tried setting minimum rpm in bios, seemed to not do anything.
Tried setting ramp up / ramp down in bios, not convinced that did anything either.
Changed the fan curves to have a higher minimum speed, only just done that so we'll see.

I'd like to know what values should be expected to work. Specs seem to list the max but not the min.

Anyone know what the minimum fan rpm should be for:
- CHA1: Lian Li Lancool 217 (there are different kinds of fans in this case, but they're all controlled through CHA1)
- CPU: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Black

Or if you have either of these, can you tell me your RPM low?
