**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S23 Family Thread ****

Have you not updated to the mat patch? Thatw as released a good few weeks ago?
Nope, still on 1st April. No updates available.

I would 100% change to Google phone for regular updates if they only offered the feature to force apps into full screen. But they don't, as far as I'm aware.

If I don't see an update within the next few weeks, I think I'll have to get a Pixel phone. I don't trust Samsung anymore, and it's problematic with work.

I'm starting to wonder if Samsung broke the update software. :D

Might try installing manually, been a while since I've had to do that.

I love my S23. But I can't stand the way they changed the update so that when you swipe for notifications you have to swipe down and then right instead of before just swiping down. It was so much easier and now it's awkward, is there anyway to change it back to how it was?

open the quick settings menu. Press the pencil icon. Select panel settings. Select Together. It will go back to allowing you to quickly see your notifications with 1 swipe down. 2 swipes to see quick settings.

July update landed, I did start having weird slowdown when switching lenses in camera app recently so not sure if that was related to June update.

This latest Android update or one of the security update is absolutely killing my battery. It used to drain fast(er) for high draw usage like high brightness watching, on data in an area with patchy signal. Now its for all use - 5% in 20 mins of watching a video on Pi Player or MX Player seems far too much. Started searching the Internet and found a number of people with similar issues since the latest Androud. Device care, clearing cache and background backing up are mentioned a lot so looking into that.

We're 2.5 generations behind latest flagship, time to encourage us to upgrade on next release ;)

I do still have weird slowdown sometimes when firing up the camera and switching lenses, not a big deal but annoying when it happens.

They can try. I'm not upgrading unless I have to, S23U still serves me well and I have no issue with manually flashing firmware and working around minor issues, so long they keep releasing updates.

I have no compulsion to upgrade phones for the sake of it anymore. I just don't care. It's a waste of money and hassle.
