What film did you watch last night?

Warfare (2025)

While you can be emersed in the realism and also be emotionally involved because it's a true story. There's not a lot actually going on. Without taking away from the soldiers went through. From a story view, not a lot happens in the first third of the film. But from the first engagement onwards it's actually quite compelling and probably a bit too realistic for some people. For me, whenever I watch war portrayed with any realism, it just makes me think how awful humans can be to each other.

Still it's no Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down, but pretty good overall.

7/10

The Company Men with Ben Affleck . The story centres on a year in the life of three men trying to survive a round of corporate downsizing at a major company - and how that affects them, their families, and their communities. 8/10

Bring her back, I'm quite partial to an a24 film, this was one of there better ones of late, better than Heretic, and doesn't suffer the weak ending some of their films seem to suffer from. A pretty decent horror by all amounts!

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Watched it soo long ago that watching it again it was like a never seen before movie.

What a great film, love Mel and Danny in this. An absolute epitome of an 80s movie.

The 4k restoration was absolutely spot on too.

9/10
God tier series.
The first is one of the best Christmas movies too, 2nd to Die Hard ;)
The second one is probably my overall favourite, the amount of brilliant improvisation too, that's left in, is glorious!
The third is great, hell even the forth is good enough 'for what it is' after you've binged the original trilogy.

That awful TV series however can do one!

10/10
It was particularly poignant as I was in Berlin a few weeks ago.
I was born only 24 years after the end of WW2 so that era has always held a fascination for me.

EDIT: Upgraded the score. It's a superb film. I don't think I've scored a 10/10 on here before but the acting was so good I really believed they weren't actors.

28 Weeks Later (2007)

Probably 10+ years since last time I've watched this and roughly as a I remember it.

Definitely a very Hollywood/US feel compared to the first film which was very much British.

Some great set pieces, but also quite a few weak plot holes/devices to move the story along. Interesting cinematic choice here and there with lot of grain and speeds which I think was meant to be a homage to original.

Thought they did Carlyle a bit dirty in the story too but I am a sucker for most zombie things so still enjoyed it.

7/10

Ballerina - It was good. 6/10

Some of the fighting scenes you can just tell, It was a little off.

Karate Kid: Legends - It was meh. 4/10

Drop. 8.5

I really enjoyed this. I've liked Landon's work since Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, so was willing to give this a lot of good will. You need to not take it too seriously, but the story moves along at a decent pace and keeps you guessing. If you don't like it, it's only an hour and a half to endure!

Police story 2.

A great watch - some crazy stunts and as always the bloopers show the amount of people involved and injuries they sustained.

Seen movie before but couldn't actually remember the storyline.
