So yeh, want to keep warm in winter with storage heaters, don't bother with a Tarrif that's meant for that, use an EV tarrif instead
You also get 1 hour of cheap power in the afternoon with that new tariff though?

Actually nice to see them offering something to people other than EV users.

It was never going to happen. Can’t have London and SE England paying more than the proles in the rest of the UK can we?
That wasnt the only option, the 'savings' could have lowered bills for everyone if you believe the pro zonal arguments. It seems though the argument that it would destroy investment in renewables in areas like Scotland was listened to. It was never an easy decision.

I always thought it convenient that, in the proposed case of zonal pricing, they were looking at lowering everyone's bills by "equalising" the costs throughout the UK but they can't seem to do the same for Standing Charges currently....Always struck me as hypocritical TBH

I guess you can't beat well funded lobbyists though (for ruling zonal pricing out)

Anyone out there still on the Octopus Agile? Tempted to jump back on board.

If so - is this the Agile October 2024 v1 tariff? Just making sure my comparison app is correct in saying I would mostly be saving. This week (4th-9th) its was a saving of £5.00 vs my Loyal 14m Fixed March 2025 v3.

To be fair they can't seem to do much at all. They haven't actually changed anything with the energy system.

It was pretty silly to try and push for it without zone price stabilisation, without it, it was never going to be popular.

It wasn't popular with the energy companies.

If its unpopular with them you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that zonal pricing was going to be better for consumers.

I don't get those who couldn't grasp that differing prices was the point.

I mean Labour have done nothing to change the energy market or our energy bills. Still pursuing the same strategy that leaves us reliant on gas prices.

Ah, ok. I thought you were meaning it in answer to my equalising SC part of my post as this was the section you bolded.

As I said, convenient how certain people want to push price equalisation when it could be they end up paying more than others but are either distinctly silent, when others are paying more, or are actively vocal against it when the subject of SC equalisation comes up

I'm not quite sure what you mean here... Can you elaborate?
govt energgy company to pour tax payers money in to make the wind companies less worried about their new investments , continued obligatory nuke funding,
might subsidise industry electricit (eu will notice), & voyage of Odysseus on whd;
subsidy on air conditioning/ducted reversible heat pump might be one to brag about (to neighbours)

I switched to British Gas in March. Somehow they have my old gas meter details, meter number etc. and they have still not sorted it. Utterly useless bunch.
