BMW and M Power Owners

If you really want to check, take it to a dyno. £60 at SRR I believe.

A B47 reaches peak torque below 2000rpm from what I can see on google anyway.

Its a 2018 BMW 420D so would be B47 D20 A i believe

Ok, in this case i dont think there is any point in taking it to them to check? although i had already phoned up now. It was a little concerning it felt a bit flat after 2000rpm though on one of the days when it was hot after being stuck in traffic
It's your car protecting itself from repaired tyres

Depends what mode your in, tbh i cant remember if i was in eco mode at that point or sport. Dont worry, ill cancel it

90-100c for coolant and 110-120c for oil temps is perfectly normal.
This.
It will be a water cooled heat exchanger that varies the oil temperature constantly depending on the load/how you drive, hence the fluctuation that you'll see when driving, on the temperature gauge (if you have one)

Hi all. My 2019 G20 330i shock absorber dust covers are split on the front suspension. My car has done 14k miles. BMW want £334 to replace them, is this worth doing? Or do I wait until the shock absorbers need replacing to save all the labour costs of having them replaced to fix a £30 part

Thanks :)

Had the same on my F80 M3, BMW wanted over a grand.

Unsure if this is the Mini thread too..... here goes.

Going to look at a JCW Clubman next week at my local dealer. 2019 and the 306(?) HP All4 Model.

Interested if anyone on here has one. I've already been tipped off about how easily wing mirrors are stolen and about the software patch for full screen apple carplay.

I'd be tempted to have a bit of a moan as that's pretty poor for 14k miles...

Mine also started splitting at ~25k. BMW said that a 1.5cm tear was 'within tolerance' and wasn't claimable on the warranty and to basically come back when either the tear was bigger or the shock was completely knackered.

mine were split (at the top) because the bump-stop was getting more use(& worn too) from degraded shocks and cover is then expanding and gets stressed/split.

I'm sure BMW will then say 'Ahh Sir, they're also six years old!' but I agree, pretty poor longevity.

This is what I imagine they will say to me. I do have extended warranty but is it covered under warranty? It does seem like maybe a 2 inch split from the inspection video they sent me.

Annoyingly my locking wheel nut key is lost and I’ve only ever taken it to BMW and I’ve never had the wheels off before to my knowledge. I’m hoping Kwik Fit can help me later as I’ve just bought 2 new front tyres from them.

Those 'technicians' at KF will likely just hammer on a socket and destroy your locking nut completely then deny all knowledge.

Despite all my years of driving this is the second time I’ve ever had to buy tyres so sorry for the next question if it’s daft lol.

For the wheel nuts is only one the locking one? Or is every wheel nut a locking wheel nut. If they do force it off and kill my locking wheel nut, can they replace it? Hopefully a replacement isn’t expensive.

Yeah, there's only 1 locking nut per wheel. I'm not sure if Kwikfit can replace them. I'd be wary of letting them go nuts removing a bolt on your wheels though. They're a ham fisted bunch at the best of times, let alone when they actually need to force a nut off.

Wear and tear is covered up to 100k miles with the comprehensive extended warranty. They should be replacing them without an argument. Make a fuss.
