Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Surely if he doesnt want out, all he has to do is publicly say "I dont want to leave Newcastle, I am staying here". 30 seconds...job done...no more basing it on social media comments that farm clicks and user engagement for income.

No Other player under transfer speculation as ever had to do this before. The circus on Isak has been shocking to be fair.

Social media has made these situations worse for all parties involved except agents.

plenty of players have in the past? Salah kept saying he was happy and wanted to stay in the past year before signing his contact when he was constantly linked with a move away, Totti, del Piero, Le Tissier, petty certain Shearer also did when linked away when he as at newcastle. Silence from a player means one thing.

tbh, the 'circus' as you put it is nothing yet.

If anyone offers 130-150m for him they should snap their hands off. I'm not convinced enough about him to turn down that sort of money in todays PSR **** show. There are never competing for anything other than a knockout cup every few years anyway. Take the money and re-invest it unless you can find soem way to fudge the figures so you can start spending 300k per week on player after player it's of little consequence anyway.

Thats not the point I am making though, again social media is brought up, whether or not other players have had to do it isnt the point, the point is, if the player doesnt want to leave, all he has to do to stop all the speculation is openly say "I dont want to leave"...thats it...all speculation then ends. If Isak truly doesnt want to go, he just says that. Finito. I see no reason why someone who wants to stay wouldnt just say they want to stay, but I see a very obvious reason why someone who doesnt want to stay wouldnt say they want to stay.

I think it's been hard to say "I definitely don't want to leave" when being publicly touted for weeks within the window, especially after the whole "We'll bid if the clubs wants to sell" tactic last month, which was 100% done to destabilise the players relationship with the club.

I don’t think Liverpool will necessarily sign him, but it does look like he’s keen to leave Newcastle.
The moment the news came out that we bid you knew he wanted to leave, the question was how much he’d push for it and it’s now clear he’s pushing for it.

Liverpool aren’t even bothering to speak to Newcastle unless they know that Isak wants the move. It’s clear he wants it and even Newcastle journos are reporting that these leaks have come from Isak’s end.

Well in that case I have no sympathy for Isak or any other player. These arent weak willed children we're talking about, they are grown men. If he is so weak that someone saying they might want to buy him, is enough to destabilise his relationship with his employers then that doesnt say much to me about the strength of his relationship with his employers.

To me, its simply more likely that the reason he hasnt come out and said categorically "I dont want to leave Newcastle" is because he does want to leave Newcastle. Whether thats because of footballing reasons or financial reasons or a combination of both I've no idea.

It's all irrelevant now, though, since he has actually told the club that he wants to explore other options. I think arknor had missed that vital piece of information from which that whole conversation stemmed. He was suggesting that all of this has come from Liverpool fans making noise on social media.

Yeah, whilst it's not quite the same, i get all kinds of recruiters or companies getting in touch on Linkedin about open positions and asking if i'd be interested. It doesn't send my head into a whirlwind and stop me getting on with the current job if i'm happy.

I agree, he's obvs a really good player but that price seems a lot of money. I'd have thought a CB would be a higher priority considering VVD's age and Konate's contract situation

I think the CB is already in the bag, it will be Guehi and I think the money is already there for that so isnt impacted by any Isak related spending.

Having said that, not sure why everything has gone quiet on Guehi, was a flurry of stuff about him and then quiet, at the time I thought the quiet was due to the Jota tragedy but figured it would have happened by now as I'd have thought they would want Guehi on the preseason tour like they've done with Ekitike, Frimpong, Kerkez and Wirtz but maybe there is some Guehi hold up or maybe they are trying to get the Konate issue resolved before sorting out Guehi

Just seems something like Rodrygo + Guehi for 170m rather than 140m on Isak where there is no obvs fit in the team considering Ekitike would be better use of funds but who knows

Possibly, I guess only Slot knows...a lot of people talking about Rodrygo but I'm not sure I want him tbh, theres just something about him which puts me off..I just feel like he's not someone who brings harmony to a dressing room. I'm not keen on players who might be prone to rock the boat and something about him gives boatrocker vibes to me when things arent going his way.
