Yes, they sort of half teased some with less drive bays when they announced the new OS version so they can’t be far away - that’s what I’m waiting for anyhow.
I currently use 3x8tb RAID5. 1x250gb SSD as the system drive so my 4 bay is maxed out. Splitting the two functions would give me massive expansion and I could get smaller but more drives going forward using RAID6 which i see it now supports.

Good News!

A new UniFi Product.

Don't Delay, Order Today
That's actually quite an interesting product. No info about sample rate or bit depth etc and on the face of it seems like it doesn't support Chrome cast which feels like an odd decision?

It's done, EE 1.6 Gbps order in. Have to wait until the end of August, presumably due to Openreach having to visit to replace my ageing 4 port ONT with a new fancy one that can do the higher speeds.
ooofft thats quite a while away that, just for an ONT swap, shame they can't just send you it to do it you do it yourself! It's probably more of a resourcing issue. I signed up 21st July and will go live 30th July, also need a new ONT.

Give it a few months and we'll have the UnFi BBQ :p

If Sonos released the same product at this price I would order today, the Sonos unit is more than twice the price and doesn't include PoE in.

As before I have a AC-Lite, unifi switch and a USG-3P, more than happy with the setup.

Whhat I am hoping is capable, is to connect to an external vpn for one device only, a TV. HAd a look at the vpn option in the usg, i'm sure that is to connect to my network externally. I there anyway of setting up a wifi network and use the USG to connect to the vpn using that wifi network?

hope I made sense.
Thanks

Yes you can create a rule to send all a single devices traffic via a VPN. Very simple to do. You'll find it in the policy based routing section.

I see Superlink Devices go live next month, as I just noticed this on the EU Store at the bottom

I feel like maybe this stuff could replace a consumer ‘smart’ alarm system. I was hoping there would be a UniFi solution for this before my Hive kit becomes useless (next month). No doubt all the pieces needed would be expensive though and it’s obviously not the target audience but neither is most of my UniFi kit I guess.

Do we have any idea when the new NAS are to be released.
Ordered some of those RackStuds for when I next tidy things up, I thought they were expensive at the time but hated the nuts and clips that UB send like they're on the small side and kept falling out.

The PhotoSync app should do for mobile backing up via SMB. Just need to find out if after I pay for the upgrade I can then use that on more than one phone.
