If this soundtrack doesn't win awards I'll be in awe, it's the best and most memorable I can think of in any game for many years. I've not been this captured by a soundtrack since Deus Ex: Human Revolution back in 2011, and while I loved the FF7R music it wasn't anything new, more updates of old tracks.

A few hours in and it's obvious why this is getting such good reviews, it's amazing.

I think I killed a boss that I shouldn't have, Chromatic Abbest I think was the name. I got like 10 levels for defeating him, does this mean that I'll be overleveled for the area?

Nice, I tried him a couple of times early and got wiped every time, in the end I decided I was to low level and needed to level up.

The extra levels I'm sure will help, but no I don't think it will make you overpowered. You can add a few extra points into various stats but overall I think it will have little impact, it's the Picto's and Lumina that will make the biggest difference. The Picto's will boost things like your health, speed and crit chance and more Lumina means you can equip more Pictos and more powerful versions which has a far more meaningful impact on fights, especially later on in the game.

I was watching reviews yesterday and remember them saying that at the beginning you will feel over leveled but eventually the difficulty ramps up.

Anyone experienced this before? I'm getting these weird artifacts in battle that seems related to the camera angle, it also started happening when I run around. It wasn't happening yesterday and the only thing that has changed is I raised the shader cache amount to stop getting these fatal errors (which it has fixed) but I did play the game a few hours yesterday with this change.

I tested other games and no issues (Satisfactory (UE5), CP2077)

edit: I put it to epic from high and it did the UE5 crash right away, so I'm thinking it's something specific to this game and the shader issue. Though I did see a report from someone else who gets the same crash if their GPU is above a certain % utilised.

Taking DOCP off has fixed it, or it could have just been the reset itself, who knows.

I finished this last night. Finished in the sense of killing the final boss, not finishing all the other side content left in the world. I was about level 60 by the end of it. The final fight took me a few goes, but once I got my whole A-team through to the second stage of the battle it was fine, though it still went down to the wire with just one of the B team left when I won.

No spoilers, but the final choice was kinda upsetting.

Great game overall. Graphics, sound, music, gameplay, art, style, story… just brilliant across the board.

Still getting CTD after a few hours which is annoying but I can't be bothered trying to work out why. It saves frequently enough that it hopefully won't be a problem although it did just happen as I was about to finish of a mime..

Completed Act 3 and now mopping up the other bits. I do wish you easily see what ones you've not done without having to zoom right in for the names to appear. Would also be nice to easily see if they are marked as danger without having to visit them again. Just running round in circles!

Just coming to the end now, got the final battle to do so finishing off end game stuff like Flying Manor and Endless Tower etc. Quite sad to be finishing it as been a really long time since I’ve played something that I’ve enjoyed and kept wanting to come back and play it, the whole experience of gameplay, story and music has been excellent, by no means perfect but it’s up there. Hopefully we’ll get dlc or extra content next year.

I finished Act 1, and not picked it up again for a month or so. Dunno why, it's not gripping me like it seems to everyone else. I think it's because I CBA to work out the specs, and spell combos etc.

The interface for the pictos and luminas and weapons and stuff is way complicated. That put me off for ages. Eventually I forced myself to get to grips with it because I was hitting a brick wall in terms of the enemies I was facing. Once I paid attention to levelling up some decent pictos and using them in a more coordinated fashion with my skills it got a lot easier. It is complicated, though.

Yeah I can understand because the amount of pictos you get in such a short space of time is pretty annoying

yeah, I think the problem is I'm a lot older now and got a kid, and just don't get the time for complicated stuff anymore, I just want to play.
