Nice, I tried him a couple of times early and got wiped every time, in the end I decided I was to low level and needed to level up.A few hours in and it's obvious why this is getting such good reviews, it's amazing.
I think I killed a boss that I shouldn't have, Chromatic Abbest I think was the name. I got like 10 levels for defeating him, does this mean that I'll be overleveled for the area?

Indeed. The difficulty will start to catch up with most people around the middle of Act 2, I'd expect.I was watching reviews yesterday and remember them saying that at the beginning you will feel over leveled but eventually the difficulty ramps up.
The interface for the pictos and luminas and weapons and stuff is way complicated. That put me off for ages. Eventually I forced myself to get to grips with it because I was hitting a brick wall in terms of the enemies I was facing. Once I paid attention to levelling up some decent pictos and using them in a more coordinated fashion with my skills it got a lot easier. It is complicated, though.I finished Act 1, and not picked it up again for a month or so. Dunno why, it's not gripping me like it seems to everyone else. I think it's because I CBA to work out the specs, and spell combos etc.
yeah, I think the problem is I'm a lot older now and got a kid, and just don't get the time for complicated stuff anymore, I just want to play. The interface for the pictos and luminas and weapons and stuff is way complicated. Strongly relatable. I really struggle to pickup and dig in to games these days like i could many years ago. E33 is one of few that really managed to hook me though, had a similar experience with horizon zero dawn (albeit, not the sequel sadly) where the story leaves me wanting to find out what's next.yeah, I think the problem is I'm a lot older now and got a kid, and just don't get the time for complicated stuff anymore, I just want to play.
Check your picotos set up as I did that area under level 50, by end of the game didn’t have a single character above 55 eitherBeen trying to beat the monolith area but struggling badly. Spent hours on Renoir to always get demolished. Is lvl 50 too low or i just need to git gud
I found it helpful to pick the pictos just for the highest stat boosts, from memory - health, crits and damage, and use the lumina for adding abilities.Check your picotos set up as I did that area under level 50, by end of the game didn’t have a single character above 55 either
Act 2 near end and if you just do story part of Act3 difficulty ramps up but if picotos buffing you and your starting with more attack points etc always helps
