******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Am I the only one that does not own a Argo Raft

What a **** show, most of the cargo elevators dont work and the ones that do are blocked by Argo Rafts.

Yeah, you do see those things ******* everywhere.

I don't have one... i do have an in game currency Star Lancer Max, don't.... looks great but in practical terms is a very horrible cargo ship.

Erm? yeah its also broken again, i'm not going to voice my opinion, already did that on the previous page.

I'm just venting, been 27 points away from the tier 3 and had nothing but issues, combat missions keep crashing, elevators not working, copper ingots not registering, game crashed on my way to deliver cargo and even died on the terminal while trying to retrieve stuff so got transported across stanton.

I just need to have a wee moan about it :D this is the first even in a while I think looked good, a bit of friendly competition and the rewards are good enough to pitch in.

You can't have both. Wait post 1.0 and we will have both. We just about got most of the core tech in.

So here is the scenario. They make 4.0 work as stable as a fully released mmo for this year. What do you think is going to happen once they add engineer gameplay mechanics to all ships and poi?

Its going to become a mess again and they spend another year polishing it up and then once again, what will happen once they introduce base building and crafting? Rinse and repeat until it's 2040 and 1.0 features they set out over 10 years at that point, only half of it is in the pu.

I know people are dying to have a working game but it's not even a ******* full game!

IMO I rather cig move on from fixing 4.0 and add engineering gameplay, fix as much as they can then move to base building etc etc etc until all 1.0 features are in the game, then polish it out completely.

But that's just me. I want 1.0 out the door ASAP. Don't wanna wait until 2044 for it to be finishes
Remember this?

@XPE

I was the only one against focusing on stability and playability .

But now we know the real reason for CR saying "no features just stability" because most of the team is working on SQ42....

Good it’s about time they sorted it out. It’s the only thing as I was interested in. Pretty sure I had the AMD code for the game for free plus a ship.

I always had the feeling SQ42 would be a one off play through anyway, so it's only been a, this'll be cool and will link with my character in the PU. It's been the people I've been playing with and the events we've been running that have been fun and engaging. As I said about the current missions cig have in the PU, they're box runs or steal the cargo ship and box run. Ehh *shrug. There's too many other good games to play to sit and grind out low level content.

I could not care much about sq42. I'm here for sc the pu.

They nailed it in this discussion and shared a lot of things i said from the letter of the chairmen.

Basically i said how it was not the right time to focus on stability and performance when the game is not even 50% complete.

this is a rod they built for their own back however as the game somewhat relies on the fact that people ARE playing it and have been doing so for years now (over a decade?).
a lot of the sales rely on positive word of mouth and coverage in social media and therefore stability and performance is more important than in other closed house games.
alas that does mean some what wasted time and money

(all just guessing but seems a fairly safe bet)

But sc nowadays are getting a negative word of mouth about lack of features progression and how long things are taking...

Yea so if they spend the rest of the year just fixing elevators and missions. By the of the year everyone is going to complain about lack of features.

Like where is engineering that was slated for 4.0...
i have no idea as i am not a programmer.... but would it be the same team working on squashing bugs that build the new features?

i am sure there will be some cross over but i dunno, take the 3D modelers for making new life forms, ships or planet surfaces / bases or those making mission templates..... i doubt they will be the same people working on network code and such like.
