Games you're playing, and games...

Wuchang:fallen feathers.

Dying all over the place, finding it difficult to get a good run going. Graphically not the best, turned off DoF and Motion Blur as it made the fidelity a lot worse. Not the best engine it seems.

However lol, despite the above and the fact I've not got a handle on the game mechanics I'm still plugging away at it but it feels hard work.

I'm in a bit of a gaming rut, looking for a good single player game, probably an FPS and I'm just seeinfg the same old stuff. Even played recently Vladik Brutal as it was meant to be a bit Halfe-Lifey but it was very meh.
Have done the Borderlands, Bioshocks, HLs, Metros, Robocop, Atomfall, Dead Island, Indiana Jones, Atomic Heart blah blah
I'm in the same boat, nothing has truly gripped me recently, Atom Fall was alright but could have been deeper, Avowed the same, no replayability at all. Robocop I'll try again but it didn't grip me in the first couple of hours.

I've not tried Avowed, Robocop was "fine" but i only really finished because I felt i should.

I've reinstalled Crysis and one of the Ghost Recons to see if that sparks anything

Planning to pick up Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

No longer interested in playing Destiny 2 (didn't bother with RoTN or get the new expansion) so more time for other games.

Just playing through Still Wakes the Deep for a second time, with my first being on PC.

I find the performance on PS5 Pro quite disappointing. Even on performance mode there are sections where the FPS tanks right down to what feels like sub-30.

Even on a high end PC, the performance wasn't that great ... so doesn't surprise me.

I've been a bit bored of gaming recently due to the annual Summer Games Drought. So I decided to give Sackboy: A Big Adventure a try. It's actually great fun. I've been enjoying it a lot.

I started playing Anthem - I'd picked it up for £4 a few years ago, so with the server closure announcement I figured I better check it out while I still can.
Despite the criticism it had at launch, I'm quite enjoying it - interesting setting and the environments look amazing, the combat feels good. I think they had resolved, or lessened, most of the technical issues in the game, however I can see that the end game might get grindy to get the best gear. Still, so long as I can get through the story and do some exploring then I'll have had value for money!!

Just started The Outer Worlds - not Wilds I hated that game - so many glowing reviews but yeah, not for me. I like it so far. It’s got a Fallout/Borderlands vibe about it which is cool. I don’t know why I’ve avoided it for so long. Feels like 60fps on the Pro so that’ll do me.

NFS Underground - nearly finished it, this still looks great when upscaled, given the age of the PS2 version.
Playing it on a 65" TV in 4K, with a PS5 controller wirelessly, is something we could have only dreamt of back then!

Had a few rounds of the Battlefield 6 Beta. Impressive so far. Very polished and more like BF3 which is a good thing in my book. Manic fun I think I am sold.

I played The Outer Worlds by accident as I thought it was the Wilds, lol. Best mistake I ever made, The Outer Worlds blew me away and the humour in it was totally unexpected, looking forward to the second one :)

Just completed Yakuza Pirates in Hawaii (hehe!) Very short was surprised when I got to the stage where the games indicates you are entering the last stage...do you really wanna go? All very fun and the pirate battles where really well done, reminded me of AC Black flag :D

Tempted to try the new Mafia game next, reviews look pretty good

Had a few more hours on the BF6 beta at the weekend. I was leaning towards buying it but my online FPS skills and reaction times, which weren't all that great 20 years ago, have diminished enough that I just didn't have a good time with it. Dying far too often to people that i couldn't even see and I was regular getting the jump on players, unloading in their direction and just not killing them. I can't see much else than frustration and annoyance and for that price I'd rather not. I think it's very good despite what the PC gamers on this forum are saying about it but I won't be buying.

I had the exact experience, I had moments of Battlefield bliss but they were short and irregular most of the time I was spawning and dying almost immediately. The last match I played I couldn't wait for it to end, I just wasn't enjoying myself and getting more frustrated the longer it lasted.

I had a really good time with it especially in Conquest. Rush I’ve never been good at. Looks and sounds amazing. Deaths are a given especially on unknown maps. Liked it a lot.

Not Battlefield, but I've felt this way for some time with online FPS. I'm competitive, and I don't like how much I've forgotten and slowed down. It's like my game sense is there, and that can carry you some of the way, but not as far as I'd like. These kids are too quick. Single player life for me these days :D

Unfortunately for me I was never a good FPS person in my prime, I PTFO but was never a killer on the trigger :D

I do enjoy single player games, can get lost for hours in a good single player experience.

Yeah, love a good single-player game. But my life has been much more peaceful since I stopped playing competitive online games. Weird that...

I started what is probably my 10th playthrough of Uncharted 2 last night. It's been about 5 years since I last played it and man, there are 2 things that struck me.

The first 60-90 minutes are not good, at all. Really boring and tedious. And then as soon as you arrive in Nepal it's like a different game - the funny one-liners come out and the gameplay opens up with the nice environments and big set pieces. And the second thing is the comedy - I forgot just how funny this game is. They really dialed up the writing from the first one.

Absolutely killer game. Can't wait to get back on it later!
