——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

I was expecting a 2026 release... currently broke... what would be the most cost effective upgrade(s) for my system below? 5600X to 5800X3D and/or 3070Ti 8GB to 5060Ti 16GB (for DLSS 4)? What do you reckon, I'm a bit out of the loop.

5600X
360mm Rad
B450 Tomahawk Max
3070 Ti 8GB
32GB DDR4
1440p IPS 165Hz
Nvme storage
Personally the furthest I'd go is a 5700X3D then save for an AM5 upgrade.

Why do you need an upgrade?

The game runs well on your hardware

Probably the 5600 upgrade (though go for the 5700x3d as they are better value)

However the best move is to wait. The beta weekends are free for people to test the hardware demands and there are a few months to save and keep an eye out for deals.

I'd wait to see how it runs on the beta before making a purchase decision - and it'll come down to how happy you are at whatever fps you get / settings.

You can happily use DLSS quality to get a bit more performance too - but like others have said - a 5700X3D is probably the most straightforward improvement you can make.

I appreciated that they go with Steam native BF6
but... is there any hope of getting to play open beta on Steam?

Edit: lost art of googling
seems yes, Steam will have it

EA confirms Battlefield 6's file size can be as low as 55 gigs
Lol, thats a sentence which reminds me of adverts where they say kills upto 99% of germs...so it could only kill 1%, but that would still apply correctly to the phrase "up to 99%" as 1 is still up to 99 :)

Most effective way to minimise the effect of cheaters is to have well admined community run servers. It is pretty trivial these days to remove the functionality of cheating outside of the OS and largely defeat even AI analysis although AI analysis would be a good tool for admins to have.
The issue with that is, Sometimes youll get admins that if youre doing really well on that server legitimatly they will kick you because people complaining you're cheating.

Didn't someone mention we could pre-download from the 4th?

I got the playtesting thing and the drop from twitch both linked to my account and have received key/confirmation but cant see anything to pre-download.

For those that are preloading via Steam (I've never done it this way) will it just appear and I kick off the download?

Probably just need to search for it in the store when it's available and then you can download it.
