What's this secure boot rubbish? Not risking my Windows install, read some people can't boot after turning on secure boot? Is it ok now?

I Pre Loaded BF6 on Sunday - I have just looked in the EA App and have a 6.9GB Update.

I thought it was worth mentioning for those with slow internet, or if servers are hammered tomorrow.

Interesting, was just reading the latest changes, didnt know that they have removed the spawn beacon from Recon and made it an Assault class item instead. Must be some sniper campers up in arms about that change.

I read about this yesterday, makes sense to me. Would much prefer an assault player putting down a spawn beacon after they've managed to break through enemies defence so the squad can spawn, capture and flank rather than a useless bush wookie atop a mountain two miles out just so they don't have to spend 10 minutes walking back to their camping spot.

Also I won't bother posting a link becuase it not really worth a watch but Worthabuy already has a video out moaning about BF6 and how you need to enable secure boot. EA shouldn't expect using to enter the BIOS and potentially break their PC...ding ding...:-p.

Where's that? can't see it on system info.
If you type system information in start, then look at the info on the right, it should say secure boot something and it will tell you if its on, off or not available

Another change that I like for the Assault class, is that flags are captured faster if Assault is present, which kind of...you know....makes sense....being an Assaulter and all, clues in the name :D

Yeah says secure boot is off, Case of going into BIOS and enabling it.

Not always..

On my mates it was set to ENABLED - CUSTOM , he had to turn it to STANDARD
On mine it was set to ENABLED - CUSTOM, I had to set it to Windows Secure Boot

It's a non-starter, a trivial nothing-burger. If you're on W11 you have it on anyway. People (on other sites, not here) are knee-jerking massively, just like they did with the javelin anti-cheat which has been used since BF1.

We must just play different games, as very few of the ones my friends and I play support more than 4 players, most , as with the upcoming Arc Raiders, seem to only support 3 players in co-op these days. As for what makes battlefield more fun, well thats subjective of course (the most fun I have in BF is in matches where people actually hang around to defend an objective point, instead of simply capturing one and then rushing to the next one and doing the objective blob cycle) , I've been playing BF games for over 20 years and dont think I've ever grouped with more than 3 friends at once and had plenty of fun along the way :)

Sounds like you might have had fun in BF6, shame that a 4 player squad limit is a killer for you for the game, not to worry though, LOADS of other games to play !
cod for last 5 years probably with 6 man squad. battlefield did cater for all your friends joining via server browser...so you could have multiple friends. what they dont get is the more people friends that can join each other the more will play battle4field.

yeah most modern pcs should have it on anyways....by default.

Its hilarious seeing the majority online complaining about having to enable Secure boot, They don't want it enabled because it will interfere with the cheats..

It definitely shows the scale of the cheating problem these days with the amount of people complaining, Just hope they don't go back and be like "Okay guys we wont require it" because if they do its a huge W for the cheaters.
