——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Oh i agree, love hell let loose, it is a slower pace of game but ttk is basically hit dead in that game lol its much more realistic which i love it for, i find bf6 much more easy than hll, but i love most fps games especially competitive ones, im no spring chicken either unfortunately :(
im 46 years old now so reactions have also slowed somewhat :)
I'm 55 and got in the top 7 on a number of games I played yesterday and top in best squad a few times so I'm quite happy with that for an old man.

I can't get it to run at all. Windows version complains that I don't have secure boot enabled (I do), PS5 version won't let me link my PSN account so I can't log in.
I had it enabled in my bios but it was a "custom" so changed it to standard and it worked

LOL every person is invisble on my screen. i just see peoples player markers and i dont even see my gun as well
Have to admit it's one of my downsides, people literally blending into the scenary which is so dense especially the open mountain map I literally do not see people
So essentially, reading through the posts...

Its like BF3
Its not like Battlefield
Its like CoD
Its not like CoD
The TTK is too high
The TTK is just right
The gunplay feels like Bad Company 2 or the older BFs
The gunplay doesnt feel like BF

:D
Mad isn't it... I just play and ignore what others say :-)

For what it's worth, this game responds to GPU overclocks VERY well. I normally run my 5090 at stock, however after I cranked the graphics settings to max (disabling blur, vignette etc), with DLAA and no FG. At 4k, I was getting between 110-120. I enabled a small OC (+1ghz mem and +300mhz core) and it smoothened out the frames and pushed me to a solid 120.

It's not needed in my case, but it certainly helped so I assume OC'ing will have a larger impact on lower end cards. Worth a shot?

Feels like the game is really nicely balanced between both inputs from my experience so far. It also runs really nicely on the PS5 Pro, running an FPS overlay on the performance mode and it genuinely sits between 110-120 without any noticeable dips. Had my first 90 kill game this morning on PC with mouse and keyboard, it feels like people have forgotten to look at the minimap to see the giant dot indicating an enemy/unsuppressed weapon and you can just roam around a cluster of enemies without any issue.

Played a bit on PS5 last night with a controller too and felt like they've done a good job of making it not OTT like COD with aim assist, much more like The Finals where you can dial your settings into your own preference. Peak of a 65 kill game on controller last night with a pretty intense Conquest game on the cliffside map - but it's been really fun.

Main takeaway is that the maps are already worlds better than what we had with 2042 - and it's nice to feel like I'm playing a BF game again. There are also certain objectives that I'm just happy to avoid now... The C flag on the cliffside map (liberation peak?) is always just full of snipers so hard to get to, likewise the C flag on the more town based map (iberian offensive?) is a shotgun/smg fiesta which I'm not great at - but really fun to have a new BF game to learn all of these things again.

I'm getting confused with the 'TTK too high - no chance to react' comments lol

If the Time To Kill is too high then you have more time to react!

Yeah my bad, should have said damage is too high and TTK is to low/fast.

Having issues loading into maps this morning, was fine all day yesterday.

Loading screen stays static and flashes every few seconds.

That started happening to me last night, was fined before 7pm but then when I tried playing again after 10pm it hung between every round and had to alt+f4 out each time. Gave up after 3 rounds.

Ah, that might explain why I ran into so many shotguns yesterday, seemed like every other person had a shotgun, thought I was playing Mafia for a moment :)

Yeah, definitely seems like they've gone with a map direction that encourages specific play styles around certain objectives which is good. Gives lot of flexibility to how you approach a map, I basically stuck to A/B/D on that map as I was pretty useless on C and E was where the enemy tank was!

Tried Domination and King of the Hill and these modes are fine, only on Conquest I'm getting this problem.

My favourite way to play these (probably the Hell Let Loose influence on me) is to take a point and then remain there holding it until I die. Unfortunately that tends to happen pretty quickly as , in BF norm style, the other 31 players in my team dont want to remain holding a flag and would rather immediately run blob style to the next flag :)

I highly recommend people watch this video, this guy is a genius in PC setups and configs etc.
Here is his take on the juice of the game and no the game does not have mouse input issues like some on here have suggested.
Big take from the engine is DICE done a great job with latency unlike 2042.

The BF lot are a lot harder to please over the COD lot. And the COD lot are very very hard to please

People need to remember that this is a Beta.

To be fair, generally speaking, what gamers see in betas tends to also be what they see at release. Its not often that a beta changes much compared to at release.

I'm not sure I'd say that the BF lot are hatd to please, I think you could please the BF lot very easily, again, speaking generally, I think the BF lot are reasonably unanimous in what it is that they want and what it is that they dont want (as evidenced by general agreement on when BF was at its peak...ie. that the earlier BF games are better than the newer BF games) , its more of a case that what the BF lot want in order to be pleased doesnt always necessarily align with the vision/decisions that the devs/suits at the company have. Its one thing to know what a portion of your userbase wants, its another thing to decide thats financially your best route.

As an example, if I could pick what I want, I'd keep the destruction, love it, I'd keep the performance, love it, I'd keep the graphics, love them, I'd keep the lack of out of place character skins, love it... but I'd increase the TTK slightly, I'd slow general movement by about 20%, I'd increase map sizes (might already exist with other maps) , I'd implement a stamina bar and have it affected by running and jumping and I'd have revives not only stop your team losing 1 pointscore but also giving your team +1 pointscore. But that would very much change the style of the game and what its target audience is, so would be daft to change it in that way :)
