bad look for wimbledon, both singles champions being ex dopers that basically got a joke of a ban after testing positive. Sinners defence seems like the same BS armstrong pulled. He gave samples on 10th and 18th March and both tested positive for Clobestol. If it got into his system due to his physio using it on his hands before giving him a massage and was only a trace level after him using it on a cut on his hand before giving him the treatment on one occasion, why is it still showing up 8 days later in a fresh sample at a level that would mean WADA hand him out a ban ?

Smells a bit corrupt.......................

How's it a bad look for Wimbledon? They can hardly tell Sinner or Swiatek not to play when WADA said that the cases were resolved. Bad look for WADA and the sport, absolutely, but I can't see how blame can be laid at Wimbledon's door for this.

Raducanu comfortably beat Osaka last night. Was a boring match, didn't even have two commentators on it. Sky coverage is so much worse than Prime was it's laughable.

Faces Sakkari in the QF.

Just seen Emma pushed sab really close.

Didn’t see any of it but hopefully (for the hundredth time) that’s her actually going to get back to her best. Perfect timing for the US.

If it’s just a flash in the pan I’m out this time for good.

She played really well but I wouldn't say Sabs was at her best but Emma still played much better
The new coach was basically talking to her every point. Rafas old coach so he probably knows the odd thing.

Sabalenka wasn't at her best, but Emma was on point for most of the match. 82% 1st serve percentage in one of the sets, which is pretty unreal. Unfortunately over the course of the match she had quite a few double faults.

Her performances have been getting better and better this year. It bodes well.

How long she'll keep the new Spanish coach (in additional to her regular guy) is another matter. I'm not sure she was onboard with he point by point coaching all of the time. "Hit with more spin, Do a kick serve", Emma then proceeds to do a slice serve and loses the point. "It's ok we're still in this, we need the next two points" Emma gets aced on the next two points. lol.

I don't disagree but that's not how wild cards work. It's a mix of bringing in the crowds and money and promoting young/upcoming talent. Venus as old as she is, is still capable of beating a random no-name qualifier, will fill a stadium.

I bet if Federer came of retirement and asked for a WC for wimbledon they'd give it.
