I could do with a new drying towel and wash mitt, any suggestions chaps?
I've had The Gauntlet drying towel by The Rag Company for a while now. It's worked wonders.

I'm not sure how it compares to any other drying towel but I boughty a Meguiar's Supreme Drying Towel (XL Size) last week and used it on the weekend and was very impressed.

Think it cost about £20 in Halfords.

Can anyone recommend some good glass cleaner (for windscreen etc), everything I try usually cleans OK but when it rains and you use the wipers its terrible.

I normally end up using the wipes but that's a littles wasteful and they never seem to last long or dry out in seconds.

https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/stoner-invisible-glass is what I recommend. I've always used this stuff, it's quite good. No streaks. As with any cleaner, make sure to use a microfibre cloth to wipe with the cleaner and then dry the glass with the dry side or a separate dry cloth.

Is the issue that it looks smeary/hazey on the glass, despite having cleaned it and/or using washer fluid?

If so, that’s traffic film, and you’ll need strong chemicals/abrasives to remove it.

Something like Bilt Hamber Review or Glaco Roll On Compound would be ideal, with the former requiring an applicator pad of some kind too.

It’s really easy to use both - you just apply to damp glass, pressure wash off and then clean the glass with shampoo or glass cleaner to remove any residue. It’ll have your glass squeaky clean.

Came into the thread, answered VR and then forgot to post my own question

So I've been an idiot and bought a white car. Mechanically it's fine but it doesn't appear to have ever been washed right so I want to do a full decontamination

Can I DIY it or should I just pay a professional?

You can DIY easily, if you got a lot of time

Clean and protect with this: https://soft99store.co.uk/collectio...roducts/glaco-dx-glaco-glass-compound-roll-on

Top up with this: https://soft99store.co.uk/collectio...-glass-cleaning-agent-and-liquid-wiper-400-ml

EDIT: This is also very good, as recommended by Forensic Detailing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilco-Professional-Nilglass-Smear-Free-Cleaner/dp/B003TFXK78/

Can be done easily DIY, but don’t mechanically decontaminate it with clay unless you’re going to polish it.

Edit: easy with a broken toe as you won’t need to touch the car much

I’ve used Nilglass and it’s no better than 50/50 IPA in my experience. Definitely don’t use traceless - it does not like hot plastics, which you can’t avoid in this weather.
