What film did you watch last night?

Fear and loathing in Las Vegas.

Somehow managed to avoid seeing it until now. Going to give it a 5/10 on the basis that I didn’t make it all the way through but can appreciate why it might be regarded as a classic. First half got a few smiles at silly bits but second half had me nearly falling asleep.

I think it only works if you’re familiar with the book or the film already. Otherwise you expect more of a ‘story’ that ends with something profound, rather than an anthology of bizarre moments loosely tied together that mostly leaves the reader / viewer to make up their own mind.

I couldn't get through this one either a few years back. I probably didn't last as long as you.

As already said in the specific Eddington thread thought this started off well, but then decended into a complete mess.. first half - 8/10.. second half - 2/10.. overall - 4/10..

Watched this with a group of people after coming home clubbing back in the early 2000s

It was so good we watched it twice

I rewatched it for the 2nd time recently, after not seeing it for around 15 years or so, this time I found it hilarious throughout #drugsarebadmkay

News of the world.
I've watched this few times now.
Tom Hanks, plays an ex military captain, that travels around western era towns, reading news. On his travels he meets a young girl that has been orphaned twice from Dutch or German parents, then an Indian tribe & it's the story of their relationship
On reading this it sounds a bit crap, but I find it a good watch. Tom Hanks, as always is good & it's an engaging story, filmed well.
7.5/10

Nobody 2 (2025) - 7/10

An unashamedly old fashioned action film with plenty of violent fight scenes and quirky humour.

The characters, story, family dynamic and premise aren’t particularly inspired but the steady pace and over the top finale make for an entertaining experience.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse - 7/10

How had I not heard of this Zombie film before, especially such a good one!

A comedy horror, with the right balance of levity and gore, it's a trope that's been done many times before and this time centered around a small team of scouts. Many laugh out loud moments and quite a few things I've never seen done before in a Zombie flick!

+1 score since I'm a fan of the genre, but it's definitely an A grade of the B movie.
Yeah, lots of laugh out loud moments. I loved the name of the 'club' in the film too.

The Hidden (1987)

Billed as a sci-fi, action, horror film with emphasis on action. There's a few decent car chases and some decent practical horror/gore effects. The premise is fairly interesting but the execution is a bit too B movie to take it seriously. A few faces from Lethal Weapon turn up and possibly even Trish Murtaugh's station wagon.

5/10

Superman –

Where to start, jeez, that dog was so annoying.

The film was a Woke DEI fest. Perry White was black, WT…

I have to say was the worst Superman I’ve seen. Superman 4 was bad but this beats it.

Did I mention that annoying dog, I prayed it would be killed.

The story was rubbish; CGI was ropey & the acting was Kak. The guy playing superman was weak.

The banter between Louis & Clak Kent was annoying & brought nothing to the film.

All in all it was a woke fest, go woke go broke, the writer/ director needs to call it a day

Did mention how bad that annoying **** dog was

Terribly underrated movie. A great 80's flick.

Are you for real?? There was literally zero "woke' or DEI in that movie. Perry has been black previously. Not a new thing!

As the the claims of ropey cgi and weak acting. Good joke post.

Krypto has been a big part of Superman comics since the 1950s.

Let me guess Man of Steel was the best Superman ever?
