Vito:
I read your posts, and you had the Asus Astral LC, right? Was the Xtreme Waterforce better? I was also considering the Astral LC because of the pin monitoring feature. But you didn’t seem too happy with the Astral LC and bought Xtreme Waterforce, right?
I thought the pump was annoying. Constantly changed pitch/griding noise, however...
Just bought another one, had it for a few days and totally different. Yes, aware of the pump, 'maybe' a 'little' louder than the Waterforce, but doesn't changed pitch so happy with it. And not aware of coil whine. Build is much better, solid. Radiator is thicker also.
I also changed the PSU, was 'older' Asus Rog Aurus 3.0 1200w, 12vhpwr direct (new in November).
To Asus Thor III 1200w, with intelligent voltage, and power display.
Voltage is always over 12v on all rails now gaming, dipped with other PSU.
All pins pulling roughly the same amps and much tighter than previous Astrals. So I think PSU has helped.
Additional, when the Thermal Grizzly monitored the temperature on the cable (Thermal sensor cable) and the input output temps, the cable input was regularly 70 Celsius plus, whilst my motherboard monitoring Thermal Cable showed the PSU side cable about 44 Celsius. (Didn't realise this may be an issue).
Now the Thermal Temp Cable on the 12V-2x6 cable into the PSU is under 30 Celsius lower gaming! Asus does advertise up to 12 Celsius lower pin temp due to high performance pins.
Sorry long answer, but Im much happier now and personally think the Astral is worth it for my peace of mind. You can set a temp alarm on GPU Tweak, Aida, and HW monitor.
I'll get a replacement/repair on the Waterforce, but will sell it on and take a hit.
