——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

I am enjoying this overall and will certainly be buying this to sink hours into.

It would be nice to have Dynamic Weather, like we have had in previous titles.

Sniping seems in a tough spot in BF6 and feels a little off damage wise, some situational examples.

Close Range / Point Blank - This should be a 1 Shot (Unless Arm/Leg etc)

I have had multiple occasions where I have reacted and hit a quick scope or no scope without reward, hitting them for 97… by the time I go to draw my secondary I have already been sprayed down.

Long Distance - I hit an unbelievable shot as 200 Meters earlier, only head and chest showing and hit for 50, I suppose without a HS I don’t expect a 1 shot I suppose but it doesn’t feel very rewarding.

I think its almost there

some big proper maps for conquesters and ill be happy enough

I have only seen a x6 Scope - Are we missing some attachments or is this a sign the maps won’t be all that big.

I agree we need some larger maps, it really limits those Battlefield moments where you come across random squads working angles deep behind enemy lines with weird and wonderful tactics, the current maps feel like they just funnel you into chaos which restricts certain play styles.

Still a defo buy for me although netcode is defo off at the moment, have seen what people mean when they say it seems like they get hit with 3 bullets then dead, but i can put half a clip into someone at times and they run away lol
never had this problem on the first run of beta or the early tests, dont know why its happening now.

Enjoying it though overall, still think the newest map is utter dog poop though.

might be why the aiming and hit detection seems off at times..

Variation but probably same root cause as of an old old bug:

Also happens in BF3 where attachment behaviour becomes inverted or not applied after certain actions don't complete properly, but can be reset by other actions if you know how games work well enough to guess at what will do it.

Seriously poor but doesn't surprise me if these issues haven't been fixed after all this time, the person who did the "glue"/utility code underlying a lot of the game mechanics was either incredibly careless and lazy and did a half-arsed job (my suspicion) or working at the limits of their programming experience.

This is why I'm not rushing to buy the game.

EDIT: Though I'm more critical that they haven't gone in and fixed these kind of things rather than they exist in the first place - game programming is hard.

After playing for around 6 Hours so far, Its still failing to make me want to pre-order or even buy the game on release.

Out of the 4 Conquest maps, Only the big one actually feels anywhere remotely like a Battlefield game. And even then that map is meh at best.

It does feel more like BF4 than BF2042 ever did "gameplay wise", But the Maps, The odd feeling vehicular gameplay (which i cant seem to really shake off) along with camera angles on Vehicles that feel "Off".

  • Destruction seems OTT, too especially on the smaller maps i definitely think they need to tone it down a bit.
  • The Anti-Air Rocket launcher needs a higher lock on range
  • Chopper and Jets need a longer cool down on Flares

Of course this could be subject to change and is totally my opinion but honestly...are they actually listening to the REAL player base? or only feedback from the shills?

I think il leave buying it for a while and jump back in when the Battle Royale launches as its F2P so i can see how the game is panning out, Of course though i suspect the BR will be rife with blatant cheaters.

I've a feeling it is going a bit like The Division 2 where they listened to the shills and high profile streamers who tried to shape the game to their advantage and then got bored and ****** off pretty quickly once the game was released. Leaving it with some not great mechanics.

I'm old school BF player, started in with 42 and all the add-ons etc then it was desert combat mod full time until BFV came out, BF2, BC2, BF3, BF4 and during all that we hosted the Beer Drinkers servers. I'm 52 now, I'm doing ok still with FPS (play a lot of PUBG still) even though the pace of this is definitely faster than BF of old, but you can compensate for that by playing more intelligent and because you can do that, it does to me feel like a BF game. I think it feels very infantry focused though (I don't really mind that tbh) even on the maps with armour, they are kept almost on linear rails because of the way the maps we've seen, are set out.

I am enjoying it, probably come out of the beta having killed more than I've died but I'm definitely not a 40 kill per round kind of guy, we do a bit of running and gunning, bit of flanking ect but the most fun to be had for the older gentleman is defending a key flag. Get dug in and hold tight.

All that said though.....we need to be able to choose squad leader and there's too much **** on the hud.

Oh and auto spot, what the **** is going on there? Why is that a thing?
I’m glad I’m not the only ones to think the HUD and menus are over complicated and hard to navigate.

The main menus especially are hard work, it took me a while to realise where the weapon rank was located which is a key piece of information.

I'm not sure if this is a bug as such, but has anyone experienced trying to revive someone, they cancel and respawn and then you end up picking up their kit?

Yeah something like that happened to me a few times. I've had a few bugs and glitches occasionally but to be expected I think. Main thing is it performs very well, no crashes , rubber banding, etc. Compared to BF4 at launch (not even beta) it's streets ahead.

Decided it's not for me so uninstalled. Then went to manually remove the kernel level anti-cheat as the steam store page said I would need to - but the first step of the instructions don't work because uninstalling the game removes the exe you use to manage the kernel level anti-cheat. Can't trust steam's uninstall as it says you need to manually remove, but it seemed to remove automatically, but did it really, who knows. So I reinstalled, and ran the game to get the anti-cheat to reinstall, then tried to uninstall the anti-cheat before uninstalling the game, but the anti-cheat doesn't really confirm it's actually fully removed, so can't trust that either. What a mess. If a game is going to do this it should be providing instructions for removal that actually work.

Finished all the challenges this morning so thats me done with the Beta. Overall impressions would be that its okay. I can see myself buying and enjoying it for a bit on launch but likely not a long term game. Main issue like many are the maps so far. Had a few 'battlefield moments' but these seem hindered by the small maps and cqc gameplay.

I'm getting constant errors trying to join servers, annoying as I want to finish some challenges off.

i managed a couple hours last weekend and quite enjoyed it, so I was keen to see how many of the challenges I could tick off this weekend. I've got to level 11 and ticked off 2-3 others, and I really can't be bothered. Maps almost feel the same, with only 1 having larger areas and that just felt like a sniper-fest.

the ttk vs ttd seems off/weird. I understand being 1 shot with a shotgun at close range, but I seem to regularly get instakilled (i seem to remember noting a SMGs regularly appearing), even at moderate range, but when I'm trying to kill someone, it's regularly a number of bursts and certainly a different experience. I also feel getting "got" a few times after I've got into cover - possible netcode/ping?

time to find a round. Regularly needing to wait over 2mins for it to find a game. Then ending up with a lot of Chinese names and server-lag (again, contributing to the feel that netcode isn't great). Given the popularity this weekend, it seemed "impossible" to not find an UK/EU server instead.

low death-penalty, or respawn rate is too quick... Either my memory is playing tricks, or there seems far less wait before respawning. I think this is pushing people away from wanting to revive others. Last night I had countless times where medics were running past me, waiting for a revive, and ultimately tapping-out - sure, not every medic revived everyone in older BF games, but it seems worse now.

I appreciate that the experience is different with mates, and I was solo-ing this weekend, but i've come away just feeling meh.

Yeah but you have to admit... so many peeps on this thread complaining about the game when we all know it's because they're getting destroyed by COD kids.
So I'm a cod kid (well cod old man) top250 player on MW3 multiplayer on mouse and keyboard.
I'm not getting destroyed on BF6 by "cod kids" but my opion on the state of the game is irrelevant by your logic

Some good news for the Doomsayers

Some more comparisons on Map sizes on Reddit including the datamine/leak of the larger maps.

Looks like the actual sizes of the maps arnt really the crux of the issue. More so that clutter, scaling and what feels like deliberate channeling is what is giving the maps a smaller feel.
Really looking forward to see how Mirak Valley plays and of course Firestorm.
