Le Mans Ultimate (Official WEC game)

I do, and use nvidea surround. I can’t tell you if there are any benefits from other methods but I have no issues with performance or setting things up through the in game options.

Hi guys, I am just trying to get this ready for when my wheel arrives and have been testing worst case scenarios to get a frame rate idea.
I am kind of dissapointed with the results - set a 30 car race with midnight start time and storm/heavy rain and watch from car in 20th place. the fps will drop below 60 at some points on preset ultra with 3840x1600 on a 5070Ti.
Considering its far from a visually stunning game I am at a loss as to why this is. Was I expecting too much or is something amiss ?

If I drop to medium settings its much better, more so than keeping ultra and dropping the res.

Talking of which the only ultra wide res available is the native 3840, for my UW monitor (I have both an UW and a QHD widescreen connected), is there a way to allow more UW resolutions ?

The game runs better in multiplayer as it doesn’t have to calculate the AIs physics.

All the big modern sims struggle with big grids of AI.

It’s not really got much going for it as far as single player goes, majority of userbase play online

@Vogon you have to edit the user file to add the resolution you require, it's what I had to do to be able to select my triple screen resolution of 7680 x 1440P. A YouTube video will point you to the correct file.

@Mariusz I tried that, (on the DX11 file advised by a YT I saw) but it just rewrote it ?
I believe it was a user file that I edited.

At work so can't check, but this was one of the videos I watched that showed the file I needed to edit for triple screens so the resolution would become selectable in the in-game graphics options.

I found if i set a custom resolution in nvidia control panel it would appear for me to select. (single monitor use, as I only have 2 monitors).
But that isnt an issue TBH, it doesn't seem like the card is struggling to push the pixels as framerate change is next to nothing even dropping to 2880x1200 compared to the native of 3840x1600.
The main thing that makes the difference is the graphics presets, so I guess all I can do is tweak them until I find a balance between appearance and performance I am happy with ... that is not something I expected to do with this GPU on this game

I just upgraded to a 5070ti from a 3070ti at the weekend and I'm in the same boat, trying to find the correct balance between quality and performance. Not easy when different scenarios (practice, qualifying and race) and tracks give different results.

IDK which tracks are heaviest, but I have been using weekend race option and setting a multiclass field at lemans old with a midnight start time, using the default hypercar. Set race only, in storm/heavy rain. I then switch view to the car in front of me, don't leave the pits and jump to the start of the race.
Once they have rolled to the green flag/race start I see the minimum FPS at around that point.

Theoretically it should be better than that while racing online and most other instances, but I like to set up for worst case.

According to Steam, I have played this game for over 6 hours ... I haven't turned a wheel in anger yet !
As per my method above, these are what I have arrived at to keep minimum fps above 80 for my setup - use and adapt as you see fit and I hiope it at least points you in the right direction :p
The biggest single hit on my setup was road reflections, a 20+% drop in fps changing from ,med to ultra, and not much less in high.

I have since upped the visible cars to 14 and the anisotropic to 8x and managed to just keep it to 80fps minimum in my test scenario.

In that resolution I don't feel I need any AA, and TBH don't notice a lot of visual difference between the aniostropic settings myself.

been on here maybe 2wks and jesus its full of muppets, more like dodgems. they need to come up with a system to kick these idiots off. you overtake and they just ram you off, them dont seem to understand they damage their car as well, and the revenge for overtakes is mad, overtake someone next corner they ramming you up the rear end:D
typical example what im finding

what splits are you in ? driving standards are generally worse than iRacing across the board but i've had some good clean racing in the top split despite it being full of massive egos !

Only just started Tbh, about a week so in low splits, I've started to not qualify and start at back and watch carnage to get SA up but even then you come across idiots. I started at back last nite and came 4th because all others crashed out

ELMS DLC Part 1 of 3 releases tomorrow. Previews look good and generally getting a decent reception. Excited to get Silverstone but unsure whether to just get a race control pro subscription. I'm new to LMU with about 50 hours after switching from ACC and only have the base game at the moment. Just getting to grips with the Merc in LMGT3. Anyone else in the same boat and wondering about RC PRO?

Enjoying daily races generally. Up to S1 for both driver and safety and I must admit I'm quite impressed by the quality of public lobby racing and the match making.

I'm guessing you have to buy the new dlc for Silverstone even if you only race gt3"s ?

I have race control pro, haven't really used it Tbh as haven't entered any championshipsvaa still learning lol

Yes. With RC Pro+ I'd assume you'll get the three upcoming DLC packages along with all the 2024 ones. I might sign up to the 12 month subscription then later down the line if I'm not fussed by championships pick up DLC as they appear on sales.

would have preferred 19.99 to effectively give you one free DLC. isnt it better to buy from key places as you keep the dlc's, do you get to keep dlc with season pass? as i know with RC+ you only keep until you end subscription

You are buying the DLC when you buy the season pass. I bought the game and previous season pass from CDkeys but the new DLC isn't listed.
