LG 42-inch OLED

From where? Years ago, I'm guessing? All I see, is it north of a grand now :(

Can't remember, probably whenever the C3 was about to launch, April 2023 I think. It's not like there's massive improvement from one model to the next if any. So I'd just grab whichever model is cheapest and the same size.

C3-42 was about £670 last Sept

Thanks mate :)

I have just installed the companion app, works fine. Connected TV to wifi network. made a note of the IP address in router. Installed software and put the IP for TV in the relevent box within the software, and rebooted. TV turned off, then turned on again when I restarted.
Great news, I'll be after the same functionality so it acts more like a monitor

Nothing at all Windows 11 set to dark mode, no desktop icons and desktop back ground set to black and I don't use any screen saver.
I also do this, although have a simple wallpaper usually with it mainly black and also hide the taskbar with a screen saver kicking in after a few mins. Never had a burn-in issue.

Nice! The burn in issue these days while it does still exist, its far better than what it used to be on older OLED's

Yeah as long as you don't mess with the 'screen care' settings and take basic precautions like don't leave a spreadsheet open all day etc...
It's not really a thing

for sure, there's even a good website that makes your entire screen fully black which I usually leave on when Im going away from the screen for a long enough time.

thanks mate. Another option is to set the screen saver to blank

Question - how do you guys switch between devices, if you have multiple plugged to your OLED.
Do you press on remote - cable button, move to the left/right picking another HDMI, press ok?
Is there a faster way to do it?

I have my home gaming pc and then working laptop connected to my C4. ALso have usb switch, so my mech keeb and mouse is plugged to a switch and with press of a button on it, I switch between them, but only for keyboard and mouse. Video goes from 2 cables, so have to use remote.

You can set it to presets so hold 1 for HDMI1, hold 2 for HDMI1 etc. Probably the fastest way.

Is there a way in the tv to lock the input mode to be always 'PC'? For some reason my laptop always resets it back to the default input mode.

Hopefully it can be done on the tv side as it's a work laptop and have limited control.

Not sure what you mean - do you mean HDMI1 and HDMI2?

The options for startup are home screen, or last input.

I got the 48" version of this but just went to my uncles house yesterday and his 42 looks considerably sharper I guess due to the pixel density, kind of wish I got one of these now!

Yep, I noticed that too, when switched from 48" to 42".
It is a wee bit sharper. I also noticed better colors and brightness, but that's because I moved from CX to C4.
