Borderlands 4 (2025)

It still is a fair point, but yes the game does appear to be poorly optimised.
That said they’ll always be the 8GB old hardware crowd that’ll waaah no matter how a game performs.
I mean one wouldn’t turn up to Santa Pod in a Ford Fiesta and expect a 9 second quarter mile time.
Right tool for the job and all that.

Whilst I have a 4090 in my main machine, I also have an ITX box which I take to LANs which has my old 3080 10GB in it and I'll be interested to see how that copes.

Randy did say 2-3 year old hardware mind, so people with 40xx can't expect too much apparently.

I think you're onto something ... perhaps some of the "power" is being siphoned off to keep Epic's Fortnite servers running ;)

It makes sense now! uE5 isn't running poorly, it's because UE5 is using our machines to remotely mine

Performance is great here and looks fantastic maxed out with dlss perf and mfg x3

Some moments of good old ue 5 traversal stutter but overall very smooth.

Let's see the latency? Also lol, man who bangs on about graphics quality still taking pictures of screen with a phone :D

I'll check the latency figures with nvidia app when next on though. Not noticed any "noticeable" increase latency as fps is high even without frame gen though. What you do notice is the vastly superior motion clarity and smoothness on a 240hz qd oled screen

Take photos as I use HDR so screenshots will just wash out the image.

I noticed horrendous slowdown using fg2+ on Indiana Jones. When I take screenshots it saves an HDR and non HDR version, yours should too?

If base fps stays above 60, you shouldn't notice slowdown/lag with FG.

What app do you use to take screenshots?

NVIDIA one its like jxr and a png or something. The fps was 100+, with 4x it was like playing in treacle.

I was hoping when i found this thread it would be people discussing the game and maybe a few tips.

I am a complete noobie never played a borderlands game before, i have just completed my new build last week and a got a free copy with my 5070TI i was not gonna bother installing it as its so not me but to my wife's displeasure i am completely hooked.

Firstly after on Friday i installed i was running on badass at 1440p and it was running poorly and i was questioning my complete build and budget as it was not the big FPS monster as i thought it would be, however after them first major patches its not running beautifully my FPS is now 5xtimes it was at launch.

I am so lost about this game any tips or advice on it , everywhere i look most guides just assume I've played before.

Is it a story mode based game? single player as thats how i am playing it? i see there is some CO-OP modes? is it an online multiplayer based game team death match?

I am really enjoying it nonetheless.

There is a story, but think of the game as a FPS version of Diablo or Path of Exile. In as much as there is a story in those too but really the game is about running around, loosely moving from area to area doing side quests and a main quest, and killing and looting as much as you can.

Just as with Diablo and Path of Exile, you can do that solo or in groups, thus the co-op part. Multiplayer is about the co-op looting/killing rather than team deathmatch etc. You work together to get loot while going through the game.

It shouldn't have felt like that if reflex was enabled. I can see you are using a lg c2 42 display? So perhaps you are exceeding the refresh rate of that and with vsync on, your fps is getting reduced/locked.

MFG x3 and x4 is only beneficial on high refresh rate displays of 240hz really.

I find it interesting that, despite BL4 moving to instanced loot only, this isn't the case for the golden chest, where it seems that loot is shared.

MFG x2 and x3 are ok with my 175hz, but stick it on x4 and then I do feel a little sluggish, so I've left mine on x3

I'm using FG to push 100fps up to 144fps. Makes it noticeably smoother but feels the same to play as the 'raw' 100fps is more than sufficient from an input lag/responsiveness point of view.

Problem is those who use frame then all the time get used to the added latency to the point it's not noticed anymore. Wading through treacle becomes the norm.
Nexus18 even posted a comment admitting the latency but you get used to it quite a while ago.
