What PC games are you playing?

My 40-odd year old friends and I scattered around the globe are completely addicted to The Finals. It's one of those games where you have just as much fun losing as you do winning.

We're enjoying Guntouchables too, although now that Shape of Dreams is live we might go back to that.

Got back into BF4, after not playing it for 4 years, after the BF6 hype... but still got some kind of BS netcode issue with it - I've been through a few setups since release but since the last time I played I've built a completely new PC and on a completely different internet connection and still the game acts like I'm 1-2 seconds behind most other players, except sporadically when it works like I think it should but those are rare moment like 5 minutes at the start of the occasional round where I'll go to like 20-0 before it starts acting like I'm 1-2 seconds behind other players again. Just so frustrating.

The number of people cheating in the game is just disgusting as well, I'm not mad just disappointed. The sad thing is some of them actually think they are skilled players.

Decided to finally try the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, so loaded up Elden Ring to see where I was. I know I finished the game becaause I got the 100% achievements unlock, but couldn't remember what build I had, where I left my character, or, well, anything else. And it turns out I have absolutely no idea how to play this game.

How do I swtich to two-handed stance? No idea. It took me about half an hour of wandering around before I remembered there was a horse in this game. But how do I summon it again? Can't remember. Then I saw a bear. The bear absolutely ripped me to shreds.

Not ready for this yet. Think I might try again another night.

I was looking through my Steam list trying to find something my three year old boy would enjoy.

We ended up playing Dirt Showdown lol. Had a right laugh on it.

I've completely gone off these large studio online FPS games slop, I would have lapped it up as a kid. The last BF I played was BFBC2 which was extremely good. But gaming back then was much better. You'd have TF2 servers and DoD:S servers owned by clans with enough members for 24/7 admin, and the community would police itself with their own rules etc.

Watching all the drama unfold on X over people clearly aimbotting looks like a nightmare, glad I've done all my serious FPS gaming now and would rather kick back with some chill games. I tried R.E.P.O in the end and it was a good laugh with randoms all using in game comms. It's going to be hit a miss if you get griefers or not though I guess.

Just started playing System Shock Remake, played about an hour so far.
Will go back to Nier Replicant over the weekend, if I can muster up enough energy to tackle it again, finding it quite boring up to now, but it is supposed to get better the further you get into it.

On the last past of Cronos The New Dawn, it's a bit lacking, but good enough for £33!
It definitely got a lot better in the later stages. It's no Dead Space though, and The Callisto Protocol is better, especially with the DLC - and I'll die on that hill!

If Callisto Protocol is better I dont think I will bother with cronos

Still re-learning Elden Ring so I can get into the DLC. Spent a couple of evenings just wandering the Lands Between, and was surprised to find quite a few areas I'd not explored, key items and weapons I'd missed and even a couple of bosses I'd never seen. It all reminded me of what a great game and game-world it is!

Finally went in the Land of Shadow last night, and immediately felt hopelessly lost. Managed to find a map (I had totally forgotten you needed to find the map fragments for the in-game map to display...) and then some Scadutree fragments that I don't know how to use yet. Looking forward to more exploration.

I’m about two hours into Prey (2017). It’s basically System Shock 2 with a load of extra faffing about and - against all odds - even worse gunplay. Atmosphere and graphics are pretty good. I can’t play games like this for more than about 45 minutes at a time because they’re too tense what with all the walking about in silence and then getting jumped out of nowhere.
