AMD confirms Ryzen 7 5800X3D launches this spring, Zen4 Raphael in 2H 2022

Are the 5800X3D still readily available in the market? or is it just auctions sites?

Waste of time buying them now, better option is to sell board/CPU/RAM combo and replace with cheap AM5 board, CPU and RAM you'll end up spending the same/similar. Obviously you'll get the "It takes too long to take out a board etc." argument but the other option is paying £250-300 for used EOL CPU.

My case is and a old school CM690 and doing a motherboard change isnt great due to the space though if one can change a CPU its not much more to do the motherboard.

The 5800X3D is a great CPU and its suffered the same fate as the 9900K where its better to sell the setup and buy a newer platform as I did it with my 8700K years ago as the cost to move to a 12600K/Z690 and keep my DDR4 was £30. The switch to a 9900K after selling the 8700K would have cost me nearly £100.

I was just curious, I already own one - so arguments don't apply :D

Decided in the end that a final upgrade of my AM4 system would be a good idea so have bought a 5800x3d; hopefully I will not regret the upgrade (from 5900x).:)
I made that switch on my system (as with you I only game and browse the net/watch some films/TV) and the boost was noticeable in gaming. Enjoy!

The 5800X3D is one of the gaming CPU GOATs for sure.

I went from a 5950x to a 5800x3d as i don't do as much photo/video editing these days.

Always have my eye on a cheap updgrade to a 7800X3d or 9800x3d but for now i'm happy.

Perhaps go am5, typically cheaper and better performance. 7800x3d is where it’s at.
but then you have the cost of new mobo, ram...
i'm not complaining about the current performance - running old vega 56 lol
have found out about those 2 CPU's way too late ;) would have made a change earlier :)

so difficult to find 57 or 5800x3d... few were sold on MM in bundles...
If you have a local sexy place and have some old tech/ games or even your old CPU, you could trade in to offset the cost. Not many left now I imagine, as the price has increased by 15 quid in the last 4 months since I purchased one.

As a 5800x3D owner, whilst I get the temptation to upgrade to a 9800x3D, the cost of all the other parts just puts me off as I’m sure it will for other AM4 users.

Holding out for AM6 and the 5800x3D is still a beast of a CPU. AMD cooked too well with this CPU.

I upgraded from a 5800X to a 5700X3D a year ago, it wasn't night and day but feels a bit smoother. However, at this point I think upgrading to AM5 is more worthwhile than paying over the odds for end of life AM4.

100%
Changing a motherboard is easy. Throwing money at the dead end platform doesn't make sense. There was a time to buy one and it wasn't in the last year, at least.

I do find it odd when I seen used 5800X3Ds selling for 7800X3D money, yes they're good but at some point it makes a lot more sense to sell off you old stuff and make the jump.
I went from 5900X, 32GB DDR4, X570 Hero to 7900X3D, 64GB ddr5 cl30, B650-E-F for a £185 outlay.

I was considering getting a 2nd hand 5800X3D of eBay but when I saw the sold prices they were selling for the same price as as brand new 5700X3D which made no sense to me so I just walked away.
