I'm not against having a more open weapons selection but having both a sniper rifle and assault rifle at the same time seems dumb in a game like this. If you are playing as a recon class and want a more rounded firepower approach then IMO the correct approach to that is to sacrifice an equipment slot for a PDW or carbine.
It feels like they have decided to get rid of classes - obviuosly a lot of push back against this in 2042.
So they have given the classes back - but with open weapons, whats the point; it doesn't matter what class you are now - you're all the same 'ready for anything' class.
The thing I've always loved about Battlefield is that you need to work with your other players if you want to thrive and pick the class the team needs - maybe not the one you like. You can lone wolf it for a while, but eventually you'll meet something you can't deal with, run out of ammo, need reviving etc.
I don't know - maybe people prefer to run around on their own now; its the team play that made it different than COD, is BF becoming COD.
