Man Utd spent £1.65B NET on players since the Glazers took over. The only two clubs to have spent more in this time are Chelsea with £1.75B and Man City with £1.7B
Just how much more money did the club need to spend?
Man Utd have tried to buy the league and ended up buying 15th place.
The Glazers have backed every manager they have had....apart from David Moyes.
A good 95% of the managerial appointments and transfers were lauded by both pundits and fans alike as being excellent tho?Focusing on absolute expenditure is too simple an analysis for a complex problem.
Over the course of a DECADE, if a company is failing and the owners keep hiring crap managers and workers, is it the workers and managers fault?
I'm not sure, he's been crystal clear re his system and way of playing since day one from what I have seen and I struggle to believe that this would have been a shock to Utd. They surely done their due diligence on him and knew what they were getting. Appointing him has been a mistake regardless but if they appointed him thinking he was going to be something he's shown he's not in the past then it was an even bigger mistake.
I'm not saying they should have expected a 4-4-3 at some point but even within the framework o
Maybe I'm wrong and I've not watched every minute of every Utd game, especially this season but from I've seen he has tinkered within his set-up. There have been changes to who has played in the midfield two and not just different names but styles of central midfielder, similarly the two 10's, the striker and wingbacks. The issue is that whatever he's tried hasn't worked.I'm not saying they should have expected a 4-4-3 at some point but even within the framework of 3-5-3 you would expect far more flexibility. A formation is a formation. There is a huge amount you can do to tweak it depending on the opposition etc. Hes shown little not no adaptability regardless of form, injuries or opposition. I doubt they expected that.

I'd argue the expectation is far to high personally from both pundits and fanbase, take this season as an example, 15th last year (15th!!!), and yet the expectation largely was cl qualification - hell you has some people change their mind and put you higher up tbe table after a loss in the opening game of the season, a loss!. Utter madness. And they turned out to be wrong?
Does that make it the owners fault or the pundits/fans fault?
You all agreed with it though that's the point. You can't keep thinking decisions taken by the owners/management are great then 6-12months down the line turn round as say we'll that was crap, the owners don't know what they are doing. If you as a fanbase think the owners are clueless but you've all agreed with them doesn't that make you lot just as clueless?Who hired and fired Ashworth? I didn't.
Apparently he also wanted Frank?I'd argue the expectation is far to high personally from both pundits and fanbase, take this season as an example, 15th last year (15th!!!), and yet the expectation largely was cl qualification - hell you has some people change their mind and put you higher up tbe table after a loss in the opening game of the season, a loss!. Do you think you'd be better off, worse off, or about the same if ashworth had gotten his way (apparently) and appointed Southgate?
Would have been a good appointment, but again he's another you turned your noses up atApparently he also wanted Frank?
Put down the crack pipe, Robbo.Perhaps rather worryingly, I am starting to come around to the idea of Southgate as interim. We know he's very limited, but in terms of keeping things simple and coaching the players through crushing adversity, he might be the ideal man.
C Kent will chirp next season "you all wanted/didn't want Southgate"Put down the crack pipe, Robbo.
He has done nothing but get Middlesborough relegated and waste a good set of England players and set them up to fail.
You could throw that approach/logic at any championship and above manager.
And then, on the plus side, you wouldn’t have to sit through turgid football and watch a man in a waistcoat to boot.
just ignore the troll.C Kent will chirp next season "you all wanted/didn't want Southgate"
I've already said you should be looking at glazna, flogging fernades and mainoo and go big on a Wharton (or Stiller as a cheaper option) in january, I think glazna' contract is up end of the season, so if you dont want to fork out cash just wait utill then and go for an interim, or muddle along with amorim until end of the season and hope you dont get relegated...C Kent will chirp next season "you all wanted/didn't want Southgate"
And yet I've not been wrong about anything to do with your club, you just dont like hearing itjust ignore the troll.
OK, I'll call The Rat now and tell him to do as you sayI've already said you should be looking at glazna, flogging fernades and mainoo and go big on a Wharton (or Stiller as a cheaper option) in january, I think glazna' contract is up end of the season, so if you dont want to fork out cash just wait utill then and go for an interim, or muddle along with amorim until end of the season and hope you dont get relegated...

Silly me, I thought this was a football discussion forum.OK, I'll call The Rat now and tell him to do as you say
So... They will probably hire him!Put down the crack pipe, Robbo.

I think I read somewhere, whether true or not, that they understand the outcry from fans if they did that would be too damaging.So... They will probably hire him!
