Would you like him to be a bit taller? Was a tough chance and a few cm too high lolIsak has to do better there. You pay that much for a striker who's not great outside the box. He's basically in the team to do that.
He pretty much out jumped the ball. From what I saw he almost ended up needing to stoop to head it.Would you like him to be a bit taller? Was a tough chance and a few cm too high lol
Interesting, you were critical of Wirtz against Gala during the week, when he should have had a hattrick of assists but for bad finishing from Ekitike, isak and Bradley but here you are sticking up for gakpo when he's been his usual anonymous self.. ''but he played a pass in the final third"Yes, but I was responding to your comment about Gakpo offering nothing, when he'd been integral to our best chance of the match moments earlier.
I don’t think allot of our issues atm are Trent related.Trent has been a massive loss. I always felt Mo was never as good without Trent in the side. Just bought something extra from that area of the pitch no other fullback came close to.

No, that's the only post I made about Wirtz in relation to the Galatasary match and it's clearly a criticism of the transfer policy in bringing in a number 10, not of Wirtz's performance in that match.I worry, and have throughout, that Slot has bought market opportunity without real thought to it. We've lost a lot of creativity with Trent going. Wirtz was meant to replace that, but I'm hugely sceptical about playing genuine 10s in the modern game - I just don't think it works, and I think that's a big part of why our balance has looked off this season. And if we take him off, we end up with the same midfield as last season, who are all great but aren't massive creators. Similarly, I didn't love the Isak signing at the time, and still don't. We didn't need to go nuts and bring in two expensive 9s and a 10, we needed to flesh out our midfield with some more dynamic options. Eze, at half the price of Wirtz, would have been a far better signing.
I hope it gels, but at the moment I think our transfer policy has gone all Man Utd. Big names, big money, but not enough thought.
You’ve been criticsl of the Wirtz signing since the season started? If we'd had our finishing boots on he'd be well on the way to double figures in assists for this season. No, that's the only post I made about Wirtz in relation to the Galatasary match and it's clearly a criticism of the transfer policy in bringing in a number 10, not of Wirtz's performance in that match.
Yup. Didn't like it at the time, and still don't. Same with Isak. It's unbalanced the team, and I think he'll give us the same problem Fernandes gives United, or Ozil gave Arsenal. Wonderful players, but a role doesn't exist for them in today's game. You’ve been criticsl of the Wirtz signing since the season started? I agree. He's a fantastic footballer and I'm excited to watch him. That doesn't mean that I think he was the right player for us to sign, or that I think the role of him or any other out and out 10 has a place in our side.Wirtz is getting too much stick, bigger culprits are the experinced ones not delivering
